So I just saw this movie by Tim Burton. It's a musical starring Johnny Depp about how he seeks revenge on a judge for kicking him out of London for 15 years. Going into it, I didn't know if I could handle most the movie being sung, because I hate musicals. But, I figured meh, its Tim Burton and Johnny Depp there's no way its going to be bad. Well, I actually really liked it. It was very funny, and very much a Tim Burton film. I recommend everyone who is a Burton fan go see it if you haven't.

Ive seen so really really bad movies in the theater and Im pretty sure I never saw anyone get up and leave. Yet quite a few people seem to have really enjoyed it, how strange...

I have never seen someone leave a movie. I did see a guy fall asleep during Grindhouse(2nd feature during long talking part) he was snoring pretty good

Maybe more people got up and left halfway through when I went to see it was because I'm in the UK.

Sounds silly, but I'm not sure how well known the story of Sweeny Todd is in the US? Here it is very well known and I guess because of this most people were expecting a gruesome horror/thriller type movie instead of some dude singing "I feeeeeeeeeeeeel yooooooooooooooouuuuuuuu" for 2 hours, whereas in the US you guys tend to follow the "movie scene" a bit more closely and probably had a better idea of what the film was going to be like.

idk what version you saw, but the one i saw was pretty gruesome and graphic. and the love plot didnt stand out that much. maybe it was because i was getting drunk while watching it. and ive never heard of the Sweeney Todd story.

Im not a fan of slasher flicks. Strangely I love zombie movies. I guess in slasher flicks the only stimulation to me is the gross gruesome stuff, in zombie movies I love the whole post apocalyptic setting so it makes the gruesome stuff fun. Also they are brain dead monsters instead of really perverse psychopathic people.

vampires>aliens>zombie pirates>zombie. anybody see invasion of the body snatchers (the remake with Donald Sutherland)? also yeah slasher movies suck imo. its not cause they scare me, i just dont get a lot of entertainment out of watching a dude saw his leg off. for this reason i did not see saw2 or saw 3.

vampires are cool, but srsly, zombies own them so hard. Vampires are more elegant, majestic, ect. They are cool for that reason, but zombies are just awesome. As for aliens, well it depends what youre talking about. Are you talking about generic aliens? They tend to suck. Or are you talking specifically about aliens aliens (pictured in all their awesomeness below) In the case of the latter I would put them on about equal ground with zombies. Zombie pirates? Pretty lame in almost all instances, yet pirates themselves are pretty cool.

As far as slashers go, they honestly do scare me. I cant really handle that type of slow upclose gore. But besides being grossed out/scared I feel the same as you, I just dont get much outta it. In zombie movies the gore is often just as bad, but its fast pased, more action oriented, not long and drawn out grossness.

wait is 28 days later the zombie monkey movie or that chick flick? in any case its not a joke because i dont watch horror movies, so when i say favorite i use the term lightly, meaning it was the only movie that i can say i liked as far as horror movies goes.

I'm thinking he meant Hart's War.

I also saw a lot of people walk out on that movie that was out sorta recently that was based on Beatles songs. The only movie I've walked out on was Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion. But I've slept through plenty.
