Personally, I joined IRC to talk about poker, to have a place where I can see nice wins to keep me up when i'm on a bad run, a place to paste in a bad hand to ask for advice, and a place to share my hands.

Currently if feels like there is almost a taboo on saying when your doing good (other than in a MTT) and pasting a hand is just not done...

I want a channel that is about shareing good hands, shareing bad beats, and poker advice. Nothing helps you when your hitting bad beats like seeing 10 good hands pasted for every bad.

I think the main problem is that people think that showing a good hand is bragging.

I dont.

I love it when someone posts a $2k NL hand that won them 10k. It makes me want to cheer because one day I want to be there, and I like it when someone from FTR wins. When someone posts a $2NL hand that won them $5, I dont think less of them because it's just $2NL, I think that they had a great win, and love it when someone from FTR wins.

I'm about to leave for school, so I cant reply for quite a few hours.. but if anyone else is intrested in a hand history/wins channel, lets make one!

Q. Is poker Gambling?
A. Do you use correct bankroll management?

No bad beats

A chatroom just isnt the vehicle for that kind of discussion. That's what the forum is for. IRC is just for chatting and a little "hey, how's it goin with this and that?" Ventrillo is for real time advice. And the forum is for more indepth discussion.

What do you expect? If you're in a discussion with someone and suddenly a person pastes 30 lines it gets annoying. If you want advice on a hand you can either: Post it on the forum and link. Post it on pokerhand.org and link. Take it in PM.

Also, Laelin, I don't see why you think it would be taboo to post wins? People post won pots all the time. I'm pretty sure it doesn't bother anyone. Entire hand histories is a whole different case.

And bad beats, why? Bad beats suck, I hate when people post bad beats, unless they're extraordinary and therefor fun. There's a whole forum dedicated to that and those who are interested in other's bad beats can get their share over there.

Personally I don't give a crap if someone just won a 500 chip pot in the first level of a 2000 player $10 MTT. But I guess the simple solution is not to go to IRC much.
TylerK: its just gambling if i want to worry about money i'll go to work lol
