a few days ago i noticed that on the right corner of my lips a llittle cut start forming. it hurts. the more i opened my mouth to eat stuff the bigger it got and the more it hurt. it looks kinda gross up close and it sucks.
today i was eating some spicy soup and noticed some pain on the left corner, and lo and behold there is another one just starting out. i dont want to have this one get so big so what should i do?
i dont know how either of these started, i dont remember getting cut there. is it possible that it got really chapped or something and eventually just broke the skin?
any helpful posts will be appreciated; any stupid comments will be DELETED

isn't this a canker sore?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphthous_ulcer
oh wow i just read it and it doesnt seem like the thing ur talking about but i thought that is what a canker sore is.
whatever it is ive had the thing you've talked about and i was able to eventually peel it off, so i dont think it's anything to worry about, idk how to stop it from getting bigger.

I used to be really bad about drinking enough water, I would drink mostly soda and juice, and binge drink. I would get this problem semi often (maybe a few times a year.) You should prob just put some carmex on it and drink lots of water. The water isnt going to help it heal faster obv but will prevent it happening again.
I did notice that it seemed to happen when I was eating something big and crusty (... jeez you guys are so immature..) like a fat slice of thin crust pizza, or a big rice crispies treat. Lips are already dried out and then youre opening your mouth all wide and w/e... dont normally notice till you eat something spicy or acidic.

Gabe I'm really sorry, but you are pretty much describing oral herpes to a tee. It's no big deal, most people have it, dormant or otherwise. Buy some Zovirax (or whatever the brand name is in the US), don't irritate it, and it'll go away soon.

tortilla chips! thats what does it to me the most. Already dehydrated, then the sat and the rough edges of the chips rub against the corners cuz the chips are so damn big (crazy mexicans!) and they are normally accompanied by something spicy/acidic like salsa to irritate the spot further.

No, bio is not leveling. Not sure if this it what was causing Gabe's problem or not. It's different but related to the other herpes. People inveted names like cold sore and fever blister because no one wants to say "I have some herpes on my lips!".

ok if hes not leveling then .. well.. hes being a retard. You can get cuts, which if irritated, can be kind of sore like and not have herpes. This is a specific problem that happens in the corner of your mouth because its prone to getting these small cuts... I dont think theres corner-of-the-mouth herpes...

he's not being a retard. it could be something like chapped lips or it could very well be herpes. pretty much everyone is latently infected with HSV1. you can get sores anywhere in the oral cavity or around the mouth including the nose, cheeks, eyes, etc but lesions on the lips are the common.

Yeah like I said I have no idea without looking at it, but I can tell you reading the post my first thought was cold sore. Part of the fun of having one is telling yourself for three days you don't have one. You certainly can get sores in the corner of your mouth, and they behave really differently depending on where they are at.

If you've ever had a cold sore, you do. Oral herpes is HSV1. Genital herpes is HSV2.
