Hopefully this is in the right forum!

This is my first ever poker community, not one i've chosen lightly i might add; having been a co-creator of an Counterstrike Gaming Clan derived from the nxsecure community some years ago. I'm 29 now and have been playing poker seriously for about a year or so now, having been introduced to the game courtesy of a job application to the Nuts Poker League, yes that guy who got funding from the Dragons Den but opted to go it alone! Also i'm quite competitive representing my region in 8 ball pool, so i didn't take kindly to regular beatings my ex-girlfriend's brother used to give me in live play and thus i'm just joining a quality poker community prior to starting a new job next week in a call centre for Virgin Media. The recession has been mighty difficult i've been delivering bloody take aways for my local kebab shop the last month or so!!!

Anyways, poker-wise i started on Sky Poker (Golly1979) having dabbled with PKR a lil bit & qualified for the SKUPT Semi at my local Aspers casino in Swansea, South Wales, my first ever live tournie earlier this year. I came 77th of 145 or so having gone all in with 6s against J9 with the flop Jack high (He raised half my stack but i was pot commited - Doh!). I'm now an official ninja-style student of the game and am afraid will be hooked for life :O)

Oh yes, a claim to fame, i have grown up in a place called Gorseinon which is where the Roma fish bar is famous for being voted as a finalist for the UKs best chip shop. Well, a few years ago, one of the Romanello sons broke his leg and got hooked on poker online. Roberto is of course well known on the circuit now, and is currently sponsered by Full Tilt Poker. Amazing who you grow up with huh! He is currently starting his own poker community up, which i won't mention as i don't want to be perceived as plugging it as a new member here.

So why am i posting? Well to get one on the board so to speak, but also to hopefully be welcomed by the regs here, and to get to know some of you of course. Feel free to add me to MSN Messenger (see my profile) i look forward to reading your replies lol

I'll leave you with one thing to cheer you up, i KNOW its crass in terms of the annoying Aussie accent, but all in all that cheered me up no end (Hint: There is a twist at the end of the video!):

-As i'm unable to post http links yet you will have to get the video yourself from YouTube, search for 'amazing poker prodigy'-

Take it easy for now and see you all online soon?..

Welcome to FTR, sir.

Friendly suggestion: Remove your MSN or any other IM addresses from your profile. They've been known to be mined by scammers/hackers in the past trying to steal poker passwords. There is a PM function on the site and you can always join the FTR IRC chatroom.

Again, welcome. Expect the usual noob hazing.
