Anyone know anything about getting to supernova? I'll be 9 tabling, so about 500 hands an hour. Of course it depends on the rake and thats the part I dont know. Any guess as to how long it would take?

it depends on the stakes. If it's 100NL i'd say about 100k hands but i really have no idea.

2 ways to find out

1. Do the math, you could figure it out quick.
2. Talk to bankitdrew or pizzatron cuz they grind 100nl FR on stars.

Or Setzy, but there's no love...

You get roughly 1 VPP per 2 hands dealt at 100NL FR. It's about 1 per 4 hands at 50NL FR, and 1 per 8 at 25NL FR. 6-max is a different animal (it's slightly more). At 500 hands an hour for 100NL FR, that's 200 hours to reach Supernova starting from zero.
Save your stories 'cuz they're all the same..

Quick question. Is the fact that you gain more FPP's per raked hand once moving up to Silver/Gold/etc.. status figured into your math already?

FPP and VPP are not the same. The points you get to reach Supernova are VPP (100,000), which are gained by paying .40 rake in a single hand. You get one per hand, or two if the rake is maxed out at $3. FPP are the points that are multiplied by your status being a certain level. You can't increase the speed you gain VPP (unless they have a double points promotion like they did a few months ago) unless you play more tables.

this is way wrong, it takes WAY more than 200 hours to reach supernova playing 100nl fr.

If the 1 VPP per 2 hands dealt at 100NL FR is right, my math says at 500 hands an hour(9 tabling as per OP) it would take 400 hours.

yeah a guy with a 200k 100fr data base said its .445vpps per hand which mean about 450 hours 9 tabling. Thats a pretty sick about to do by end of december starting from scratch now. Can be done though if you play a lot.

You don't need supernova to get money back. $685 at platinum with 50K FPP's all you can eat. That's my goal for the month of August.

FPP owns rakeback.

From scratch, you will get there in about 200k hands.

25VPP = 200 something $
50VPP = 600 something $
100VPP = 1500 something $
180 something VPP = 3000 something $
Buncha Supernova milestone bonii for a total of almost $30k.
Buncha balla Supernova Elite miletone bonii for maybe a total like $100k.

Im not following. 200k hands is meaningless because it obv depends on stake. 200k hands of 10NL wont do it.

Anyway, so you use FPPs to buy bonuses ... which you then have to clear? Ok, sucks you have to clear it but no biggy.

But.. what do VPPs do? They just let you move up in status level right? Or are they exchangeable for cash prizes?

FPPs are used to buy and then clear the bonuses. VPPs are just to move up levels. Supernova Elite members get to choose two out of the three big tourneys to go to as well(without costing any FPPs). No cash value on the VPPs.

I thought it was established that you'd be playing at 100nl. Guess not. That's what the 200k hands was addressing.

Bonus clearing is no biggie. It doesn't affect your acquiring bonii capacity.

Put simply, FPP = VPP. Put more accurately, FPP = Bronze status point acquisition; VPP = all other statuses.

Silver = Bronze + 50%
Gold + 100%
Platinum +150%
Supernova + 250%
Supernova Elite + 400%

So as an SE you make 5X base FPPs

spending the fpps on bonus money is stupid unless you are supernova or above. You lose about 300 bucks in value for the 685 bonus if you compare it to a gift card worth 1k. Once you get to supernova the bonus is ok, ive bought it twice now with fpps. Also you have to get more base fpps to get the bonus, it is not just released in your account.

Yeah I'm a dumbass. 400 hours * 500 hands = 200,000 hands which should net you roughly 100k VPP. I was just making it out to be 100k hands, not 200k. Doh! Fast tables will help you get in more hands/hr also, so you could potentially shave off some there.

And trik is right, wait until you're Supernova for the bonuses...provided you aren't going busto. Wasting hundreds of dollars just because you want the money now is just plain wrong. Poker is a long term game, plan ahead!

yeah, this sucks. I figured they added $50nl BBJ tables since VP24/7 only has like 5 tables running anymore.

I think i might switch over to stars since i dont have rakeback anywhere else.

Well apparently I'm a shitty full ring player, so I'm back to 6m. This has drastically hurt my FPP gathering. I made it from 0 - platinum in less than two weeks, but now I'm only getting 100fpps/hourish. I'll probably just take the 285 bonus and go back to a real rakeback site.
