So I have a problem with driving overly fast. I have gotten 4 infractions in a little over a year. So I was starting to look at ways that I can avoid getting my license suspended or getting dropped by my insurance. I was interested in knowing about radar detectors from what I've read on amazon and other sites http://www.amazon.com/Escort-Passpor...pr_product_top seems to be the best of the best... I live in Washington if that makes any real difference. I also was interested in legal help I was wondering if you could get attorneys that would basically get you off the hook for tickets no driving record no fine whatever.

if you're going to speed def at least invest in a radar detector. of course it doesn't always work but they have saved my friends a few tickets in the past.
never heard of an attorney getting you out of a ticket though... where's chardrian?

Get a radar detector, it can help for sure.
I'll AIM you when I'm up and about tomorrow about an attorney that's got me out of two speeding tickets.

I'd see what the law in your state is regarding radar detectors. The cops here have radar detector detectors and if you get caught with one, the fine is HOOOOGE.

How's about you grow the fuck up and drive like a human being. It's not your personal race track out there, there are family members, children and irreplaceable property that all do not belong to you and people really don't want you fucking up.
Maybe we will get lucky and you'll kill yourself and we can see it on youtube

thanks for the advice guys it was all pretty helpful i also did some research online and it seems as though if you really dont want to get a speeding ticket you won't, also jyms if you spent nearly as much energy about being angry at young punks like me as you did learning to play poker maybe you could budget in that stick removal operation

I've since found other ways to endanger family members, children and irreplaceable property

Part of the problem for me is money isn't really a deterrent for speeding, I also do many other things that I don't want to get pulled over for either like not making complete stops or using HOV lanes while being a LOV.

You could be right but from the thread my assumption is he doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon and really sees nothing wrong with his behavior so basically we are waiting for something to happen in order for things to change.
Which would you rather see, his post about hitting someone or something else or a vid of his demise? One or the other will probably happen when someone knows that they are doing something wrong but have no remorse or concern to change.

Fair enough. I also blame the government for letting people stay on the road who drive as badly as OP. There's no reason someone who gets 4 speeding tickets in a year should still be a licensed driver.

Also, to clarify my position, OP basically only comes to FTR to post shit and stir it up. He brings nothing to the community and is known for it, hence the perma strike. He's only one fucked up post away from a perma IP ban, and If I had the energy to put together the last few threads he started which all were to start shit, he probably would be already.

Pretty much agree with jyms
When I was a kid, we used to ride bikes all around at night, whenever cars would come by we would lazily disperse to both sides of the road. Shortly after I got my driver's license, I often found myself encountering kids doing this same thing, and I realized how much of a hazard they are/I was because of my new found experience.
I don't have kids, but I also understand that people who do have kids will see much of the world differently (and more correctly in some instances) due to experience. Driving vehicles around children is much more dangerous than people who do not have a lot of experience with kids think. Having two nieces, I've discovered that they do not think the way adults do, and running out into the middle of the street like an opossum comes standard to them
I'm not saying that this all applies to OP, for all we know he keeps it slow and cautious in residential areas, and for all we know his speeding is typically not of the reckless type, but the point still stands that if you're getting a lot of tickets, you're most likely doing something wrong, and that something is something you will learn to not do later in life due to becoming wiser

Also, I'm pretty fortunate inasmuch as I once hit a rabbit, and I realized that could have been a child.
Drive perfectly ever since because I realized that being in the wrong place at the wrong time with vehicles will destroy my life

Also you seem to think that just because I have multiple speeding infractions means that I am going 199 down the road in a quiet suburb. It is possible to get this many speeding infractions only traveling on major arterials. I also feel like I have contributed way more to this community pokerwise than you. Just for the record I believe it is 3 strikes your out not the 2 you somehow believe it to be.

Sure you may think that I have questionable moral or ethical boundaries but that isn't really for you to decide. For example me, I'm not telling you to lay off the steroids even though I think they can seriously damage your body. As you can see I am not really interested enough in your personal well being to advise you against using dangerous performance enhancing drugs however, you will also notice that I am not a big enough douche to go out of my way to wish bodily harm to you. Seriously though just because you dislike me as a person doesn't mean that I am not entitled to my own opinion or that because you dislike me as a person my opinion is not on the same level as yours. I hate to break it to you pal but every ones opinions are equally valid and you are not on a pedestal.

This is me now. I used to want to get everywhere really fast but now I use driving to relax and not care about going 90+ anymore, although I could easily do it. I used to go 100 all the time after i bought the car and I never realized why people think that its such a big deal going that fast.
I have a radar detector supposedly the best on the internet: Valentine. It cost me like $500 and it saved me a bunch of tickets. The only one I did get the cop was waiting on the bottom of a small hill so the detector didn't see his gun even it normally sees the things 2+ miles in advance. I wasn't even going that fast either and there was a lot of traffic so I feel I got pretty unlucky. Some cops are getting less lazy though and wont keep the gun on at all times and that is basically impossible to do anything against.
I don't use it at all anymore unless I drive out of state b/c its illegal in VA. I still don't speed much when I have it on but I do like to know where the cops are so I don't make a mistake when I'm not meaning to speed.

why do they have speed limits?
Why do some people think they are above the law?
I have a kid and when you have your daughter in the car and see some dickhead little 20yo speed past or cut you up it really pisses you off. same with mobiles in car. There are reasons for these laws.

Oh and the cost of hiring an attorney is usually more than the cost of a speeding ticket so there is no point. If you really want to reduce the fine or points the best way is usually just to contest the ticket and show up in person. If the cop doesn't show up (not uncommon) you win - case dismissed. But even if he does, you often get a reduction of some sort just by giving your sob story.
I don't understand the whole "yelling" at young people over the internet. Young people are stoopid because they are immature. They gain maturity and the wisdom that comes with it either by simply getting older or through life experience not by reading thoughts on the interwebs.
