... while riding my bike?
Most of my friends live about 2 miles away. The first mile (on the way home) I use the sidewalk, then go through campus. The second mile I'm usually on side streets.
I'm not worried about going to happy hour and having 6 beers (thus technically being over the limit). Last night I don't remember any of the ride home, and I have 1/2 a bag of popcorn which I don't remember making or eating.

so 0.0008% or 99.9992%?
0.000008 * $10,000 = 8c
So technically it's -eV, but is this close enough it doesn't matter?
Is this better or worse than my chances of calling a push with T9s?

honestly, I would be more worried about the actual act of drinking and riding the bike than I would about getting a DUI. That really can't be a good combo for your own personal safety...

If you do drink and bike again, make sure you stop by a BMX course. I hear that is a lot of fun.

totally depends on where you are at.
Where I went to school (UCSB), everyone lived in like a 1 square mile area and bikes ruled the streets. The area police gave tickets for BUI all the time - and the crappy part was that it counted on your driving record.
But anywhere else, and I think you have a better chance of just getting a public intoxication ticket than a DUI.

Yeah, you gotta second level the police. Drunk people have a hard time riding a bike. they usually walk.

QFT times ten.
I went out to SoCal to see a friend that was going to school at the University of California-Irvine. He lived 50 yards from the beach and about a mile away from one of Dennis Rodman's pads. We drove down a sidewalk right next to the beach. The sidewalk was huge and I still somehow managed to drive off of it, falling about three feet. Luckily it was sand that broke my fall.
Just stumble home and don't get jumped in the process. Unless, that is, you get jumped in "the good way" by a really hot girl. If that happens you need to write a Lukie-style story and tell us about it. Please finish with a happy ending, though.

I had to cycle home after a screening and drinks session after work one day. I didn't realise quite how much I'd drunk, but I was probably comfortably over the limit. Even so, I could tell that my cycling ability was WAY impaired and I have to say I am genuinely lucky that I didn't get seriously damaged - there but for the grace of god. So - don't do it because you could get fucking killed and then we'll be REALLY pissed off with you.

haha, this is a great response.
Thx everyone for the concern, but I'm not worried about the ability to bike safely. The roads I am on are basically deserted, if they weren't I'd be on the sidewalk biking at a walking pace.
It's really too far to walk. 30min is over the limit for me. 95% of the time it's not even an issue.

i drank all last year and would walk 45 minutes home drunk. The time really flies and it's nice to sober up a little bit so you know you need to begin hydrating.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

I should preface that as "I don't like to drive sober and I walk everywhere anyway so 45 minutes isn't a big deal to me."

Um are you sure that's what you meant?
Swig, the walk would be great exercise, much better than the bike over that distance. So you'd get something positive out of the drinking experience

Drunk walks are the best. You don't notice how long it is or how cold it is.

A mate of mine once cycled home from a party in another mates house, absolutely smashed. He made it safely the two and a half miles back to his, only to crash into a parked car two doors up from is own house. He broke his collar bone and his parents found him unconcious on the street the next morning (he's 28 btw).
Oh how we laughed
