Are there any must haves for this thing? I'm not much of a gamer, but I think the Zelda game looks pretty cool.
Also, can you pick up component and optical cables for them? We just purchased a new 50' plasma and if I'm going to use the Wii, I'd like to do it right. Thanks in advance.

Zelda is a must have. Great game.
Super Paper Mario will also give you a lot of enjoyment.
Excite Truck is crazy fun.
Wii Sports bowling is great.
These are my fav games for the Wii.

As far as I know it's still a matter of knowing someone who can grab one before it hits the shelf. That's how we got this one anyways.
Is Tiger Woods golf much different then any other golf game out there? I have yet to play any games, but I would imagine other then graphics, the game play would be similar???
What's Paper mario all about? never heard of it.

Paper Mario is a mario RPG where Mario gets stronger as the game goes on. The twist is the you can switch from 2-d (Like old school NES Mario) and 3-d helping you get through some pretty clever puzzels.

I wasn't impressed with tiger woods golf, I found they need to work a lot of kinks out of it mostly the shortgame. Then again I'm a pretty decent real golfer so maybe im being too nit picky.

People are going to try to tell you that Excite Truck wasn't good. But those people are morons. It's tremendously fun and I really don't see how people could dispute that fact.

unfortunately super mario 64 is the best / most fun game ive played on teh Wii 
still waiting for trauam center / S Paper Mario here in england
any1 played hte godfathr game on teh wii, who asnt played the original?
prob buy that next, after i finally finish SM64 and zelda (yes i suck)

There's a lot of stuff about the Madden game that I just don't like. It's not that great of a football game. The controls are great and running the ball is awesome fun but there's little stuff that annoys me. Like when you're playing franchise, every so often a score ticker comes up and DOMINATES the lower half of the screen. You can't see you QB or Hot Route a WR or adjust your play at all really and it never goes away. Absolutely retarded, WTF cares about fake scores for other games?!

Well, I went out and grabbed Zelda and Super Paper Mario to start things off. We also picked up a second controler. My next question is, other then sports games, what are some decent multiplayer games? Tiger Woods Golf and Madden are def. next on my to do list, but the wife wants something she'd be into. Thanks for the insight so far.

Wii sports. Every aspect can be made a drinking game too.
The bowling is wicked fun.
We also picked up some mini-game CD that came with one of the controllers. I wanna call it Wiiplay or something? In any case, it has some nifty stuff. A pretty sexy air-hockey type thing especially.
Mario Party 8 is out, and while I havent played it, holy shit I want to.
