I bought a black submariner like 4 months ago, bought it used from rolex dealer and all that jazz. Anyway i go to new york city this past week and i am walking up and down canal street and about 50 people ask me if i want to buy a rolex. I didnt take my watch with me on the trip for obv reasons, but one of the guys flashed a watch just like mine so i take a look at at and it looks and feels just like mine. So i get curious to see how close of a fake it is to mine so i haggle with the dude and pick it up for a few hundred( by brother got a cheaper felling fake for like 40 bucks).
I get back to texas and get my watch and CANT TELL THE DIFFERENCE, i almost forget which one is my real one. So i take it to the dealer and he cant tell either, he takes it apart and starts telling me how i should be ashamed for buying it and blah blah blah, and tells me never to bring it in the store again, dick.

moral of the story....buy a fake and save yourself 5k

So I learned how to counterfeit money today. A secret service agent stopped by our school today and explained the process. Mighty kind. (For those unawares, the secret service was created in 1865 to track down counterfeit money, it didnt begin "protection" services until quite a bit later)

A) Head over to Bolivia. They use the same "paper" (its not really paper, it has fabric in it) as the United states. The currency exchange rate is rather small as well.
B) Bleach the Bolivian currency using a diluted mixture of water and bleach.
C) Reprint. The sophisticated counterfeiters use their own machines and plates to do this. The average criminal uses a xerox. It works about as well.

The little pen the retailers use are made to detect the fibers in the "paper". Since youre using the exact same paper but with different printing, it'll pass the pen test.

LAE -- the pre-professional frat for law enforcement, had him as a guest speaker today. He rambled a bit. Showed us some counterfeit money. Someone asked. He told us.

my guess would be that it's not exactly a huge secret, and obviously it's not 100% foolproof or even close.

Yah, its not a rolex. It's just the style of watch I like. I don't really like any rolexes.
