my computer is pmsing and has gotten progressively worse. last night it was just a complete piece and wouldnt work hardly at all. i did a virus scan, no virus found. i defragged it over night. i deleted most of what i thought was the problem (my d:\) so i deleted most of its contents, and that wasnt the problem. last night it took more than 5 minutes to start up, and now it is much better. it is functional now, but not the way it was a few days ago. i still can't really listen to music as it is incredibly choppy and it makes me want to put a bullet in my brain. overall the performance of my computer makes me want to put a bullet in my brain. any suggestions as to what to do now? i cant fucking play poker because of this nonsense. my intuition tells me it has something to do with either itunes or poker tracker.

Open the task manager and see what process is taking up all the cpu time. If it won't let you open the task manager, it's a virus. Tell us what the process is.

Bleah... that makes things difficult. You may need to have a specialist clean the insides.(even laptops get dirty and clogged inside)

so i got systemsuite 8, and i ran an easy update which essentially gives up-to-date virus patterns or something, and after i ran it, my computer has been running as well, if not better, than it was before. i dont know what caused it, but thank god!!

fwiw, i opened task manager before and there werent really that many problems with a bunch of programs running, at least ones that took up a lot of space.
