this is inspired by spoonitnow's thread in the beginner's circle
so I'm open to anyone who wants to challenge me in chess. I'll play 10 minute games against anyone. If interested, go to:
www.chessclub.com
sign up for a free account (takes about 1 minute)
download blitzin 2.6 (1 meg) or use the web interface. I recommend the download interface
when you get there, write in the command prompt "tell salsa4ever hello"
and you'll be in touch with me! I'm waiting!
Get your bragging rights now! Who is the FTR's king of chess?
Salsa4ever
MSN me if you want: salsa4-ever@hotmail.com

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Salsa are you hobbyist or 'serious' player?
If the latter: what's your (offline, non-blitz) ELO?

I was once the underage champion of my state and did well in the national championships. But then I found poker, and I haven't played a serious 90/30 chess game for years. At my peak I was ELO 2000 or so
BTW I'm going to bed now, so any new challenges will need to wait until tomorrow.

I'm interested in playing you, but I don't like the 10 minute format.

ELO 2000 is woot. Unless some CM jumps in, we have a winner already.
I was once obsessed with chess, dreaming of becoming a GM but after doing lots of tactical exercises, reading, etc (just a hobby, never played a rated game) it became clear that ton of hard work is ahead of me and I realized that gap between me and better players was way bigger then previously imagined. I was still obsessed and willing to work hard when poker hit me ...

I still have the book of 1000 combinations or something. I think I solved the first 50 (they weren't graded in difficulty) but they were so difficult each took me about 15 mins on average. Then I found poker and now I'm still at 50.
deanglow what format do u like? Nowadays the most I can really handle is like 30 0 or something
