Yeah, having Rennwurm as #1 is bullshit imo. Dude runs like 9/8 and steals 21-22%.
Congrats Renton and Setzy.

Renton motivated to play full ring, and helped me with tons of hands. Definitely one of the best FR small/mid stakes players out there.

Well I'll never get on the list since I don't play a ton of hands. Highest winrates would be a nice touch, but the site that was working that is down.

That's pretty awesome. How hard are you guys datamining to get these results?
FWIW, it's about time that there was a rankings website for cash games.

We're using a datamining service so its not that much work.
Wuf, i think total winnings is better than winrate, but thats just my opinion. There is also a fan poll, but there are going to be "Expert" rankings as well.

Yes total winnings is better than winrate before a point at least. With pure winrate we'll see nothing but fish who ran good for 8 hands or whatever. Is there some way you can include the number of hands played for each person?
Overall, what's important in this game is hourly, not winrate, so that does make total winnings premium, but it still won't show the total of which players are the best since some of us don't play much yet may play very well when we do.
Another thing I think would be awesome is showing results of every player who played 25k+ hands/month. As far as showing who're the most skilled I think this would be the most comprehensive way.
And I don't mean to clown on your shit ISF. You're doing great.

I like hourly. Theres no reason we can't have multiple ways of ranking people. Just more work.

As far as improvements that I imagine you'd want to address in the near future goes:
Since you're going with the top fifteen performers just start with them and
1. Distinguish sites played on
2. Show hands played
3. Show winrates
Question: Why not have a search function that allows us to search for any player, and we get the information for that player like how realpokerwinnings or whatever that site you found was called was supposed to work? I think a lot of us would find a lot of joy in being able to look up the regs we play with.
It pleases me to see youse guys working on this.

The only site datamined is Stars.
And the sort of system you outlined is planned upon, but is rather far out in the future. The point of this site is just to see if theres interest and if interest peaks (IE people check it once and never again) or if it generates enough buzz to actually become profitable.
I'm the guy that designed the webpage btw. Some people didnt get that.
I agree that we should include some stats but we're really not sure which ones we can post (if any) and still stay away from stars' lawyers.

Why not roll with FT at first then? Them being cool with datamining will make things easier and possibly much easier.
Seeing how much interest is there is obviously a good thing, but the inclusion of more attributes will generate more interests. Personally, I could care fuckall for the rankings system as is, but if I can see the winrates and hands played of all the regs in my game then I will check the site out from time to time at least and possibly a lot. I'm sure many others will feel this way.
Obviously you gotta start somewhere, but I hope the mistake doesn't get made of not making those sweet improvements if the current setup doesn't garner enough interest.
And yea tons of ass will help.

I agree, and trust me, your points are well noted. However ISF and Mass are unsure of the legality of posting those stats (as other sites have been removed from the internet for doing so by other sites)
Anyway, keep suggestions coming.

you guys should do weekly updates as well as monthly, because some people might be up there very short term as a result of running hot, whereas month-to-month you get a more clear of who the consistent winners are.

Is this what happened to pokerplayerwinnings? The site's still up, and I was under teh impression that they weren't running stats anymore due to comp/power issues, not legal issues.
Would be nice to know exactly what legal shit went down with other sites.

I emailed pokerstars about this, you are not allowed to post any stats without written permission from the player, and even with that they need extremely solid evidence it is in fact that player. So it's pretty much impossible. This is the biggest loophole we've found.

I cant understand how stars can claim legal ownership to those statistics. They dont even generate the stats themselves, how can they possibly claim ownership of someone elses work, without any input from their company?
That would be like the nfl trying to claim ownership of the fact that Tom Brady threw for #x yards on sunday by saying "Only Tom Brady can release that information". No thats not true. Anyone WATCHING tom brady has that information too.
I think its bullshit, but I understand you don't have the money to fight it.

why dont you ask them to provide some sort of evidence that proves it to be unlawful? because if you simply ask them if its okay of course they are going to say no. this could be wrong, but my thinking is unless it is against the law then they can't have your website taken down. and i doubt they could take any action as far as banning anyone from playing there, because how do they know its you? and you could always so no thats a different danny steinberg. that to me seems like it would be your biggest concern. is this wrong?
