The following only doesn't apply if you are exactly Lukie.

I think that a big ego is extremely harmful to a poker player. I think that the best players have all gone through poker situations that were so horrible and humbling that they no longer have that ego. I think confidence is important though.

The best players exude a quiet confidence, but aren't egotistical really. Gabe would probably be an example of quiet confidence. If u ever watch the cardrunners video that muddywater, sbrugby, or stinger do, you'll notice they are a calm and humble presence.

I'd have to say that one of the biggest negative aspects of my poker game is my complete lack of confidence.

lol, what a setup. God threw in me stacking two people in the first 5 minutes as a clever ruse to throw off the fact that i would eventually bust out at the start of the second hour by a nut str8 vs flush followed immediately by a secondset vs topset.

In fact that whole session sunday, although it seemed like ordinary poker playing, it was really God raping my in the ass with his giant black godcock.

By the way, godcock is an awesome word, and you heard it from me first. No one has ever used the term 'godcock' until i did just now.

1. Haven't had it yet. Sorry.
2. Wow this is tough. I can only give u a list really: Theory of Poker, HOH2, the BooostedJ video on cardrunners (the piece of shit one where u can't even see his cards on one of the tables, i think its free to download even if u aren't a member of cr), the master sticky in the SSNL forum on 2p2.
3. Hmm. It definitely gave me more drive to succeed. I couldn't really say how much more. I would have definitely gotten as far as i have regardless of the prop bet I think, because I had intended to make 10k anyway, and was chronicling it in my blog prior to the bet.
4. Ring.
5. I would be working in an office, doing something im not very passionate about (designing crappy ass cookie cutter retail buildings), making about $20 and hour plus "bennys").

Renton, serious question:

After 4000 posts, a million (give or take) hands played, and quality discussion with the one and only Lukieplaya, how are you still not beating games seriously higher then .5/1, or whatever it is you're playing these days after your 200k hand losing stretch? oh, nvm.

I beat all games up to 2/4 that i have ever played.

Now, why I only beat these games for an extremely meager winrate, is anybody's guess.

I thought you beat 2/4 for a while, then lost at it for a while, then moved down a level or two because your bankroll was going down. For what we're discussing, the later hands you played would be more important then the earlier hands you played although they obviously mean the same for how much you made (lost?) in the game overall.

Well, a huge downpoint to a low winrate is sick sick swings. However, im a long term winner in basically every game i have played, albeit a small one.

1. Indi_T, stylistic, full_tilting, daddy123 (he's a lag, i don't know if he's any good, but he runs like gangbusters vs me for some reason), can't think of anyone else right off, and these people i've listed aren't very tough.

2. Not folding weak made hands (two pair/trips/baby flushes/etc) to obvious strength.

3. Rant in e-minor.

4. Out of those three??? Wright. My favorite current architect is probably Renzo Piano (www.rpbw.com).

5. Probably triptaint.

1. Don't really have one. Basically I just want to carve out a decent profit. I'd like to eventually be a regular at 5/10. I'm not sure i'd ever want to play higher than that.

2. Wow, there are so many. I guess the most recent one was that bottom set fold that i posted a while back.

3. Ugh, so many again. First one that pops into my head would probably be Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.

4. Angelina Jolie??

Good to read this somewhere, I've always been under the superstition that I've played more marginal/bad cards listening to music.
