15 carries, 34 yards. 2 fumbles (with one inside the 3 yard line) AGAINST MY TEXANS!!!

lolololol. TOTALLY worth the #1 overall pick.

Our undrafted free agent Echemandu is better than Reggie Bush. And people wanted us to pick him over Mario? ahahahahahaha.

Also, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!

There were so many great parts of this game, but the funniest was when Reggie Bush fumbled on the one yard line, and Texans fans all over the stadium stood up and started chanting "Reg-gie! Reg-gie! Reg-gie!"

Whether you go by this game or HIS ENTIRE CAREER, Reggie Bush will always be <<<< Mario Williams. Hell, he'll always be less than most every other running back taken in the first day of that draft.

Also,

"Dear Mario,

Thanks for the hug. I was having a really bad day and after dropping the ball on the goal line I would just like to say that really meant something to me.

Thanks again.

Reggie"[/img]

This isn't news anymore. You can count on one hand the teams that have a worse running back than Reggie Bush. I don't blame you though considering the amount of crap you took for this last year.

lee, Bode, he deserves this thread, any Texan fan deserves THIS thread, you don't get the crap we get on a daily basis about that draft.

Anyways, the Texans are sooooooo much better with Andre back, I mean the dude is a beast of a receiver and he was sorely missed the past 7 games.

pretty sure I made like *one* other thread. And that was back when he had negative yardage in a game despite being handed the ball just a shitload of times. So um, this will be the running thread, then? Since I have all of *two*?

Very true, and I LOL'ed at one of his commercials I saw on Sunday. I think it's for ADIDAS called "Patience." Reggie Bush is a stick figure in a maze or something, looking for his first career touchdown. The stick-figure Bush finally scores the touchdown, then it cuts to the real life Reggie Bush looking all smug and shit like he's finally made it or something. Then he talks about Patience and the word comes on the screen. We're still waiting, Reggie.

The dude was a beast in high school in college but that hasn't transferred over to the NFL, that's for sure.

This post is terrible. Bush is not a goal line back, and everyone knew that when he was drafted. He is best in space, evidenced by his receiving skills and lack of runs b/w the tackles. If Deuce was in the line up those fumbles would have been TDs.

So therefore he's totally worth the #1 overall pick? And he's MUCH better than Addai, Maroney...hell, RON FREAKING DAYNE?

I shall end with the post above mine:

I'm going to make this my running "funny Texans quotes" thread. Laugh, dammit!

~~~
"I'd rather make the playoffs and lose to the Pats 77-0 than not make it at all. Besides, if we get to play the Patriots that means we'll have won a playoff game since the Pats will have a first round bye!"
As funny as that is, I concur with that statement. haha.
Actually Manning hasn't had a good game in awhile. I think with all the injuries to the receivers and offensive line, he's kind of panicking in the pocket and forcing some bad throws. It's funny how the Colts' defense is carrying Manning when he's playing mediocre, since that's what the Patriots' defense did with Brady for so many years.
The disappointment of Reggie Bush
The former USC star and Heisman Trophy winner is not living up to expectations with the Saints, and his inability to run between the tackles is a problem.
By Clifton Brown, Sporting News
2:56 PM PST, November 21, 2007
If you saw all of Reggie Bush's commercials -- and never watched him play -- you would conclude he is one of the NFL's best players.
He isn't. Bush has charisma, Bush has endorsements, but Bush has not lived up to expectations in the NFL. He has not been nearly the player he was when he won the Heisman Trophy at USC, which makes him a target for criticism. Bush now seems trapped, both by opposing defenses and by the weight of expectations.
I asked Bush after the Saints' 23-10 loss to the Texans whether the transition from college football to the NFL was harder than he expected. "It definitely hasn't been easy," he said, still in a somber mood long after most of his teammates had departed from a disappointed locker room.
Bush has not rushed for 100 yards in any game this season (he did so only once as a rookie), nor has he topped 100 yards in receiving (something he did twice last year). The moves he mesmerized defenders with in college don't work as well in the NFL, where players are faster and bigger, less paralyzed by Bush's speed and uncanny ability to change direction.
Bush's performance against the Texans was typical of his season. He had 15 carries for a paltry 34 yards and caught 12 passes for 70 yards. He also fumbled the ball away at the Texans' one-yard line, a crucial mistake that took away an almost certain Saints touchdown.
For Bush to become as good as he hopes to be -- indeed, as good as his No. 2 overall draft selection in 2006 says he should be -- he must follow the blueprint of undersized runners who became NFL game-breakers, such as Brian Westbrook of the Eagles and former Giant Tiki Barber. Though Westbrook is most dangerous in open space, he also can run effectively between the tackles, as could Barber. That is Bush's biggest weakness -- his inability to run with force inside. That makes him one-dimensional and much easier to defend, especially with Saints power back Deuce McAllister out for the season.
The Saints are giving Bush plenty of opportunities to run inside. But too often on inside handoffs, he looks like a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, making shifty moves left and right instead of running forward. Sometimes the Texans stuffed the run well and left Bush nowhere to go. But on several occasions, Bush hesitated at the line instead of hitting the hole hard or bounced outside, looking unsuccessfully for the big play. Because defenses don't respect Bush's ability to hurt them between the tackles, the field has become narrower for him. Defenses are happy to oblige Bush's preference to run outside because they can use the sideline to negate his speed.
How sick would it have been if the Texans were ran like a functional NFL franchise and traded the pick like they should have? There was so much talent in last years draft. They could have picked up AJ Hawk and Dameco Ryans in the same draft. Add that to Greenwood and you have the sickest linebacker core in the nfl. Plus would have gotten second round picks to replace the two second round picks we eventually gave up to get a back up qb.
It's not like Bush is a bad player. It's just for some reason people were expecting him to be more Marshall Faulk than Eric Metcalf. Turns out those people were wrong.
Dude. Were you even paying attention during that draft? Nobody was willing to provide even 3/4's value for the pick. Hell, the Jets weren't even willing to trade their two first rounders that year to get the #1 overall. Who the hell would you have had us trade with? Because the only truly willing partners had picks that were right beyond the "upper echelon" talent level of the first 5 picks.
It's not like Bush is a bad player. It's just for some reason people were expecting him to be more Marshall Faulk than Eric Metcalf. Turns out those people were wrong.
I'm pretty sure it's a combination of your last two sentences...and the fact that REGGIE BUSH SUCKS AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Same could be said for Mario. Outside of the NO game and the Giant game last year he has really done nothing. I've seen him get singled up on a te and get shut down.
Houston media has a way of glorifying the current players and management and beating up the old guys. matt Shaub has not performed particularly well, and mario is NOT always double teamed.
Casserly made a lot of bone head decisions, but he wasn't the one who signed Green to a 3 year deal. We will have to wait and see how the Shaub deal turns out.
You're kidding, right? Houston Media biased towards the Texans? It wasn't so long ago when the media around Houston (*cough the crapicle *cough) would have more coverage for the Cowboys or hell, the TITANS than the Texans. And it wouldn't even be close. Ditto with television. What "media" are you talking about, exactly?
And you're right: mario isn't double teamed every play. Only about 65% of the time. And he's had an impact in waaay more games than those two that you cited. You need look no further than the rookie success of amobi okoye to see his impact on the production of others. But hell, let's be fair and only look at his production . Multiple forced fumbles, more sacks than most defensive ends who aren't on the Giants.
Mario Williams >>>> Reggie Bush and always will be. Hell, he hasn't even reached year 3 yet, the year when most DE's finally "get it" and start reaching their potential.
Now, running backs? They usually "get it" immediately or in their first season or else they never "get it" and adjust to the speed of the NFL game. It's now been 1.5 seasons and I still see Reggie Bush's RB counterparts IN THE SAME DRAFT consistently outperforming him.
