those are fighting words.
If you mean because they have a huge payroll well they have to because they are in the same division as the yankees. The difference is the red sox don't buy washed up past their prime players and pay them wayyy too much. They buy young guys with more promise than skill and pay them waaaaaaaaay too much.
But it seems to work.

Believe me.. i hate the Yankees more than most, and have always passively cheered for the Red Sox (typically because they were always playing the Yankees..) But I think if they win again this year... the "underdog" sheen that the Sox seem to carry with them is going to come off as people (outside of the Northeast) begin to wake up and realize that only difference between the Sox and the Yankees is poor grooming skills.
