my computer is performing like a virgin sucking a dick. what can i do? it is only 2 years old so it isnt obsolete, at least for my purposes. what im going to do tonight before going to bed is delete temp files using system suite, and defrag my hard drive. any other recommendations.

This might sound strange, but it seems to improve performance if you're using a window operating system.
Back up your data and anything else on your hard drive that you can't replace. Reformat your hard drive (or just delete everything). Reinstall your operating system. Reinstall your programs.
You might want to do this as often as every six months.

Try going back to a system restore point that was before all this started happening and see if that helps any.

Good anti-virus program and a solid firewall is needed to keep the shit out.
Does it start alot of programs at startup?
Using alot of auto-update crap?
Have alot of programs you dont realy use and/or know what they do?
If it's realy bothering you how slow it is, my guess is that it's more then what a simple defrag can fix. Hard to tell from here tho without knowing anything about your comp. No reads on villan! 
/format is the safe bet.

My computer its at least 5 years old. I have 512mb of ram..
Sounds like youve got some malware. And if you have limeware then thats likely part of your problem. The program itself, iirc, has malware attached to it, its not just the files you download through it.
