semester started yesterday, so today is the first day of all classes that run tuesday and thursday. its snowing here and all the buses arent running and obv i cant drive. id estimate it about 4 miles to my class and i think im too hungover to walk there, so im not going. some people say u can get dropped if u miss the first day but ive not noticed attendance being taken first day, but maybe im just forgetful. i feel guilty so i made this post.

I doubt they drop you for a single absence. That would be stupid. Especially on a day of inclement weather in which the state has decided it is not safe for their employees to be on the road.

That would be really stupid.

 I got dropped for a class for not showing up on time once on the first day. It wasn't shitty conditions like what you have out there though.

this semester I am finishing up most of my geneds and dont have a single class within my major.

I didn't go to my stats or philosophy classes at all the first week.

Now I guess a class within your major that is full they might hvae a reason to drop you.... but still lame.

It's just the south, in Michigan a foot isn't a huge deal, other states shut down for a week when they get an inch of snow.

No way in hell they can drop you if the weather was really bad, dont sweat it. At Texas Tech, it was standard for me and others to not go to the first 2 or so classes during the "drop/add" period.

I just walked a mile home from class, without a hat or hood, wearing only the lining of my winter coat. Gusts of 31mph and 14F, I know understand how people just give up and die in the cold.
