Yeah I agree with whatever you're all blabbering about.

There was a girl who I used to be friends with who was raped according to her evaluation of the situation.

She invited a male coworker to her house where they planned to spend the evening and night alone while drinking.

At one point they were completely naked on her couch making out, fingering her, rubbing his dick, etc. From there, she told him that she was not going to have sex with him that night.

They decide it's time to go to sleep. He's going to sleep on the couch, and she's going to sleep in her bed.

A little while later, he knocked on her bedroom door. She opened it and let him in. They proceeded to start making out and continuing what they were doing previously.

While he's laying behind her in a spooning-type position with a handful of tit while they continued making out and she continued rubbing her ass on his crotch, he slid his dick in her vagina.

She immediately stops him and tells him no. He pulls his dick out and goes back into the living room to sleep.

    Thoughts?

^^some would say his problem is sexual entitlement. I would say her problem is being a fucking retard who can't evaluate the circumstances
  4. #15529
And no that doesn't mean I said that men should be entitled to sex. I'm saying the framing is all wrong. Everybody seems to think it's okay for women to use their agency to put themselves in difficult situations, but then assume absolutely zero responsibility when they're unhappy with outcomes

In that situation, the most obvious thing in the world is that he wants to fuck her. She knows this beyond 100%. She should get no sympathy if she were to bitch and moan about him trying to fuck her as she incessantly and deliberately nurtures his desires with her actions
  5. #15530
Let's say, way back when, my sister had done this and told my dad. He would have told her "what the fuck did you think was gonna happen?!"

But if you say that in public discourse, you're blaming the victim. No, I refuse to create an undeserving victim

My wife offered to work with my family and in-laws to collectively get me a next generation system.

Worth it? I have xbox 360 and ps3.

I'm leaning towards getting the Xbone if I decide I want one.

ps4 is outselling xbone 2 to 1 worldwide. Most important question is what do your circle of friends have?

There is very little interest in the next gen right now where I live, I only know like two people that have them. I'm happy enough with my pc to say then when I do go next gen I'd get a Wii U over the others (Smash brosssssssssssssss will b out by xmas!)

    Wikipedia gives:

Misogyny (/mɪˈsɒdʒɪni/) is the hatred or dislike of women or girls.
    Merriam-Webster gives:

Misogyny - a hatred of women
    Dictionary.com gives:

Misogyny - hatred, dislike, or mistrust of women.
From these definitions, it would seem that having the opinion that women should keep their asses in the kitchen and learn how to cook and please a man instead of learning how to get a worthless MA in Communications and focusing on their worthless lolcareer in human resources is not misogyny because it does not require disliking women.

To make this more interesting, it's worth noting that she did not refer to it as rape until about a year later when she started seeing a therapist who convinced her that she was raped. Thoughts?

It’s only a matter of time before another child is killed, and we won’t even remember their names. We need to call autism what it is: a public health emergency, no less deadly and devastating than Ebola.

I've always been an XBox guy but if I buy a next gen I'm going with PS4 this time. They're selling more systems and their network seems to offer more. I will miss Halo though if I buy one.

That being said, what's the reason for buying consoles now? Would you be better off just taking the $500 and putting that money into a PC? What do they offer now besides their proprietary networks and earlier releases of games? I want to buy a system but I'm having a hard time justifying the price tag since I'm not a hardcore gamer. I'd maybe play like 5 hours a week at the absolute most.

I think PC is ultimately better, even if you are a hardcore gamer. I have an XBOX USB controller that I can play games from any emulated console with. And Steam is awesome.

Consoles have the streaming media apps like netflix and amazon and all that. I'm sure there's a host of auxiliary reasons a console is better. It also depends on your PC of course, its capabilities and all that.. but if your PC can handle all the games you want to play, you should probably just sick with that.

Once upon a time I had a Spectrum Sinclair ZX. Then the Commodore 64 came out and I was like WOW. You could put cartridges in the back of a C64 and you wouldn't have to wait for it to load. Just when I thought life couldn't get any better, Commodore gave us the Amiga, sending graphics into the next world. My God those graphics were amazing back then. Things were starting to look like they should. I stuck with the Amiga while friends got things like the NES and Mastersystem, but when the Megadrive came out, I was sold. Can life get any better than the Megadrive? Holy fuck now we have the SNES. A NES, but super. A fucking super NES. What the shitting fuck. And a game boy. I can play it in my hands. This game of fitting shapes into spaces as they fall with this catchy music, oh my god where has this been all my life. Then we got the Playstation. And then, drumroll please, the Xbox. My head exploded. All these games on discs that load so quickly. Gone are the days when you had to put a fucking cassette into the computer, and wait for it to load up with pretty border colours and high pitch noises. Gone are the days of saying "is that supposed to be a crocodile?" while figuring out how to get an egg across a river. Now we have Halo, with grenades and snipers rifles. We can link computers up and have fucking loads of us trying to kill the shit out of each other. Fuck this is amazing let's do this from the minute we wake up on saturday until our eyes start bleeding on sunday. While drinking cider and smoking weed.

Everything since Halo has been underwhelming to say the least. Life peaked with Halo, I suspect.

I first started into programming on a Commodore 64 when I eight or nine back in the early 90s when they were already ancient history.
  24. #15549
I used to write programmes on the C64, I was prob around ten, can't really remember that well. They were shit programmes, but I was proud of myself at the time.

luco I sometimes play GTA but that's about it. Nothing since Halo has been anywhere near as fun. But then again we don't have like 12 people in three rooms all drinking and smoking these days. We probably should for old time's sake.

Isn't the steambox pretty much ready for launch already? Maybe that's something to consider. Even right now, maybe a $300 pc with a controller that boots right into Steam with big picture mode...
There would be a reason to finally play Tale of two Brothers and Transistor.

You just didn't go with the times. Shooters peaked with Q3. After that, developers were like: nope, we're out of ideas now. The whole warcraft/starcraft/dota evolution is where it's at.

I thought about it more and a console offers the ability to play on your entertainment centre (ya I know PCs connect blah blah blah but it's not convenient) and it's something you can play alongside your friends when they come over. This hardly happens since I hardly play and my friends and I aren't video game focused when we hang out.

So you're right, PC is definitely for me. I think I'm just a sucker for new devices. I'm able to shake my head at how people spend too much money on accessories or cars they can't afford or whatever else they think will get them laid, but once I walk into a Best Buy I start hemorrhaging money.

Every time I walk past a DS in a store I'm tempted to impulse buy. Maybe because I was denied a Gameboy as a child. Then my adult brain keeps telling me that I will use it once before it collects dust in a corner, but that's still such a cool thing. I'm jealous of kids these days.

Who the fuck deprives a child of a game boy? It's the ultimate bribe. Behave and you can have your game boy. Child behaves and is then mega quiet for however long he's allowed to play tetris. Your parents missed a trick there oskar.

I'm a bit behind you guys in the video game arena. I grew up on them, but I never really got into much after about Playstation 2 or so, and I was even late to that particular party.

I have a computer in my living room that's hooked up to my TV with a few Playstation 2 controllers. I regularly play everything from Atari 2600 through PSX/N64. The older Mario Party games are a big hit in the spoonitnow household.

Tonight I had the longest dream that I remember. I was renting a car to travel through North Korea. I take a tour through a government building. I have a feeling like I shouldn't be there. I see guards running at me from down the aisle. I decide even though I've done nothing wrong, I should get the hell out of there. I manage to get to the car. They chase me up a mountain road. On the way I run over some foot escorts from a convoy coming down the hill. I hide the car near a train station. There are massive three story trains coming and leaving. I meet a couple of foreigners. They tell me the fastest way to get where I'm going (I don't know where I'm going) is to take the speed train straight through China. I can't go though china, they are allies! I decide on a detour through russia. When I print the ticket I see it's a tiny spider. I ask the couple how they suppose I hold onto this. They tell me not to worry, it will hold on to my hand.
I can't go home, so I settle down in a small tourist resort. While I'm there I get a call on my phone. Absent minded I pick it up. It's the guy from the car rental company. They must have gotten the license plate. They know my name now, they probably know my position. I ditch the phone. I have to go home, get my things and go into hiding. Back home I pack my hiking backpack. As I leave my apartment, two women dressed in the uniform of the korean people's army come up the stairs. This is where I wake up.

    tl;dr I am paranoid/delusional in my sleep
I once had a dream where my own grandmother would rat me out to the SS.

    my first thought: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streisand_effect

I would have thought more of Forbes. To make this about free speech is ridiculous. This isn't a political issue. This is not about repressing information, it's purely: we think he's a piece of shit and we don't want you in our club. It's a bad move, because: see above, but let's not be melodramatic about it.

Same shit, different border patrol. This is not a 'first they came for the...' - type situation. This is one lonely asshole. No minorities are being oppressed, no political fraction silenced. Just one faggot who's getting way too much publicity now.
There are places in the world today where if you say: hey guys, I don't think allah is all that akhbar, you get crucified. Not figuratively, Abdul and Asaban will drag you down the street and nail you to a cross. Are we seriously wasting time and energy on this?

It's not the same shit and it's not a "first they came for..." thing. It's that developing policy that represents actual value is super hard when countries do things but not that hard when clubs do them.

I find it funny (or more like sad) that people who think the state should decide who are interlopers also disagree with most of those who the state decides are interlopers

Of course we're not wasting time. We're digging into the societal problem solving (or problem creating) process.

If we want people to not die when they say allah aint so akhbar, one of the first things we would do is stop letting states tell people what to do

If I contracted AIDS and you gave me a time/dimension machine and gave me a choice of two destinations to find the cure: (1) a world with a history of market and private forces making decisions or (2) a world with a history of the state making decisions, then yes, I would choose the libertarian one

Using a problem solving mechanism doesn't mean all problems have been solved, but not using a problem solving mechanism does mean problems are unlikely to be solved

    Ahahahahahaha: http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/273802...r-racist-tweet

Duncanville school district trustees rejected a teacher's letter of resignation, instead firing her for posting a racist, profanity-laced tweet.

Vinita Hegwood, an English teacher at Duncanville High School, released a statement Thursday saying that she wished to resign, but the district said it wasn't notified.

The Duncanville Independent School District Board of Trustees received the letter during a special meeting Friday morning, but still unanimously voted to terminate her teaching contract.

Hegwood came under fire last week for her comment on Twitter about the police shooting in Ferguson, Mo. She suggested used profanity and suggested white people should kill themselves.

"Who the fuck made you dumb duck ass crackers think I give a squat fuck about your opinions on my opinions RE: #Ferguson. Kill yourselves!" the post on her personal Twitter account said.

Too Many Cooks is an immersive experience, repetitive yet with twists, refreshing yet repetitive. We journey from the fourth-wall-busting obviousness of classic family sitcom to the dreadful struggle of modern drama, only to find the experience is unbroken. After all, it was only yesterday we watched TGIF and only last night we watched Breaking Bad. We forget our roots, we forget our past, we forget what the dramatic experience is. Too Many Cooks is there to remind us, perhaps without letting us know it has reminded us.

Or maybe I've broken the unbreakable rule, that true art is unexplainable

I wish I could restart at 30. Anything before I would just do again anyway, because hell I wasn't 30, but there were a few things I would like to change after 30.

You see this ideal in play when universities tell their female students that if they say yes under the influence of alcohol, it’s still rape. You see it in Duke’s 2009 regulations, under which sex could be deemed coercive if there were “power differentials” between the students, “real or perceived.” You also see it in the new “affirmative” sexual consent standards, like the one recently mandated in California, or in Yale’s new policy, according to which sexual assault includes any sexual contact to which someone has not given “positive,” “specific” and “unambiguous” consent.

Under this definition, a person who voluntarily gets undressed, gets into bed and has sex with someone, without clearly communicating either yes or no, can later say — correctly — that he or she was raped. This is not a law school hypothetical. The unambiguous consent standard requires this conclusion.

This is one of the best MSM pieces I've ever seen on this topic. A criminal law professor from Yale explains how the new bullshit that feminists have pushed like re-defining consent and having men kicked out of school over fake rape charges that can't hold up in court are actually hurting women and helping true rapists. He also shows how lowering the legal drinking age will keep both men and women safer in college.
