What started the whole omfg ftr hates IRC thing?

I know when I first started coming here the links were on the website to IRC, etc, but I just noticed a few days ago they're not, so I feel like I missed something.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

There was IRC drama that spilled into the community. People where being banned and coming here to cry and FTR admins have no control of IRC.

THey decided to not be affiliated with IRC because of these problems.

People kept comming on here complaing about being banned and other moderating problems with IRC. So we just cut loose with it.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

So what are the guidelines about posting something IRC-related, even if it's not bitching/whining/general trouble making? Even if it's funny or even *gasp* relevant to poker?

Well, I'm asking because I saw a post that was IRC-related, but was funny and seemed pretty harmless, but it was locked purely for the fact that it was IRC-related. This seemed a little Nazi-ish, but I don't know the details of the situation, so I could be wrong.

These are not the droids you are looking for.

Move Along.

What's IRC?
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Doesn't have to do with martial law at all.

But this is getting way off topic.

I'm not trying to start trouble, I just want to know where the line is.

The guideline is simple.

Do not post anything about IRC in my forum.
1. Is there a post about this somewhere I should know about but I don't?

2. Does this pertain just to #flopturnriver, or IRC in general?

Edit: Also, how does this pertain to signatures?

I don't care, keep your convos in IRC.

If its stuff like bash.org, that's fine.

I can't control what you put in sigs, so it's fine by me.

I'm not trying to be an ass, there's just no clarification about what's okay and what's not.

Thanks.
