Post subject: Program other than aim to use for aim

Someones told me this before but it was a long time ago. Need to reinstall it so rather than the aim program which I dont like what else should I use which is better?

I switch between trillian and pidgin... Pidgin crashes for me sometimes, so I got trillian up now

what's wrong with AIM? I've never used anything different, what am I missing out on, or what makes the other programs that much better?

Other than the US most of the world uses MSN messenger. These programs run both and not just one or the other.
