Ok so heres another thread about my bass.
So last week my bass stopped playing with my amp, my amp would still crackle when I turned it on but nothing else. So the volume knob on my bass has been loose so I figured I had ripped a strong out. I came home yesterday took my bass to guitar center. A guy messed around with it for like 10 minutes fixed the volume knob from spinning and such plugged it into his amp sitting there and it played fine.
I bring it home plug it into my amp nothing... :*(
So could my amp be blown or could my cord from my bass to amp be shot?
I put new strings on it, those 5 year old strings I had no idea how shitty they made it sound.

The crackle is most certainly because of the cord. Just try another cord, (or see if you can mess with your cord's position some to see if you can get contact). If it works, fine. If it doesn't, your amp has a problem :P
You can also try unscrewing the covers at the end of the cord and see if you can spot what's wrong. (If you can do that on that particular cord).

Ok its the cord, Im back at school and I pluged my bass into my roomates sub and could play through that 
And then we plugged his computer into my amp and it played through that.
