That video card would smoke any game out there right now, but if you're not gaming, it's overkill.

QFT.

If you're not gaming or using some nasty CAD apps, don't drop anywhere near that much on a card.

Why you do you want the 512mb ram version of the 6800gt, I think the 7800GTs with 256 are cheaper and a ton faster.

Or a regualr 6800GT 256mb ram smokes most games out right now.

I have a 6200 with 256 ram and it smokes 99% of the games right now. That's on a 3 year old machine too.

On what res tho? on a lower res a 6200 is ok, I play at 1280X1024 on a x800xl(very close to a 6800gt) with most stuff on max, a 6200 cannt do all that at that res with playable frame rates in a lot of games.

what res do you play stuff at and im sure your 3dmark05 score is less than 4000. thats not really beating 99% of games currently available..

I would go for the 7800GT 256 or 7800GTX both smoke a 6800GT then lamb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130247
or get this the best single card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102624

If you really wana have the biggest e-penis you need two of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121213 one of those acts like 2 seperate 7800GTs, get two of them and you have 4 video cards running in SLI.

lambchop i wouldn't spend the money on that overkill card cause it seems that 90% of "pro" players like yourself tend to bust, or get very close to busting. So you should build your roll to massive proportions before you go wasting money on some nerdy gadget to increase the size of yoiur e-penis.
