I recently got nailed with some sort of adware/spyware while viewing some free porn site. Can someone please help me get it off my pc. I bought spyware search and destroy last night but that didn't help. I have all sorts of security (adware) icons on the bottom right corner of my windows (next to the clock) and I don't know how to remove this crap. They are constantly popping up windows saying that spyware is in my pc...blah blah blah. Also, whenever I open my explorer now it goes directly to some site called protectionsphere.com and I am unable to change my default home in my internet options. Need advise please on what to do.

It's nice to know people occasionally listen.
Seriously, follow those steps (read everything and don't skip or it won't work). You'll learn more than you ever wanted to about what your computer is doing and it will probably run faster when you're done. And for Fucks sake get with the 2000s and use FireFox.
I had to do this complete re-install like 4-5 times over a couple years on IE, only once since I installed FireFox and I brought that one on myself.
You'll also realize why it's a good idea to partition your harddrive.
