What are the advantages to 2 monitors vs one big one. I'm debating going with like a 32 at some point. What do you guys think?

Wider is better than taller, thats really the only thing I guess meel.

In this pic you see
1) Dell 2001FP.
2) Mag Innovision somethingsomething. It weighs about 50 pounds, but it does 1600x1200, and it was $100 new! :P
3) Beer. Michelob ULTRA, working on my girlish figure
3A) More Beer. Yuengling. MMMmm.
4) Box of Ritz Crackers. Fucking up my girlish figure
5) Post it notes. Usually full of poker notes, but they have important phone numbers on them at the moment
6) Wiimote. Which I put new batteries in and left on for about 24 hours. Oops.

Second monitor is so nice for things like a messaging program, poker tracker and iTunes. I would recommend one big monitor and a smaller that is separate for those programs. You aren't really looking for inches as much as you are for screen resolution. I have a 24" monitor hooked up to my laptop and I can have 9 tables tiled comfortably on the 24".

Hope the noobies don't see this thread. I have this image of some guy with 3 monitors and a laptop 3-tabling 2nl. :P
Srsly, tho, I'm hoping to earn my way to a 2nd monitor this year, so the thread is helpful.

I found when i was using two 21" monitors, the side to side movement of the mouse and haivng to move my head and eyes alot got to me after a while. After a couple weeks I just randomly overlapped 20 tables all over one monitor and left my other programs running on the other.
The tables pop up in order anyways. I found it alot easier.

If that's the only reason then I definitely don't want 2 monitors. That stuff is an hourly drainer as it is when it's berried under tables. No need for it to have it's own separate monitor.

I only 4 table, so that's the middle 22" monitor. The left 19" has HM (HH reviews during my sessions),spadeeye (for table selecting), the poker lobby and Poker stove. The other 22" monitor on the right is for FTR, AIM, MSN, Camtasia (when recording) and just so I can have 3. The 3rd is frivolous but I think 2 are necessary for poker. I don't like anything popping up over my tables.
XTR? is the big monitor for poker? I hope your not turning your head the whole time you play? I would put the big nice monitor in the middle and the laptop on the side. Just me.

Variance: No flash on iphone camera.

When I get laptop back from the repair shop it will be 100x cooler but I still like this. 2nd monitor is tv as well so sometimes I watch tv while grinding, sometimes I irc. Drum kit is essential to the grindage.

Hey Muzzard! I thought I was the only minimalist guy that used a small keyboard! What model is that...I might give it a try in the future. I've typed on a happy-hacker keyboard for ten years now.
I like my keyboard, mouse and computer small...and my monitor large. I orginally bought a bigger monitor to tile more tables...but after reading "24 tabling like a pro" thread at 2+2...I started stacking and really dig it. I did move my start bar to the side of the desktop because of that thread and like it there for quick table access.

22" Vertical for more tables with less overlap. Its mounted to a LCD TV mount, which is then mounted to the desk. I can just sit back and relax. 19" sidekick monitor for PT. Red money Buddha in the background. I really need to clean...
