Im trying to make a calendar out of a dry eraser board, so i bought some permanent markers to make the lines with. The problem is, when you write with a dry erase marker over one of the permanent marker lines and then erase it, the permanent marker will erase too. So my question is, what can i use to make permanent marks on a dry eraser board that wont erase?

I was looking for an easier solution than paint. Straight lines would be somewhat hard. I guess its not really a calendar, but a weekly schedule with hourly times from 8am to 2 am. Tape wouldnt work because it would be too thick, at least standard tape, i was really looking for a fine-tipped-permanent-marker width....

So much for not so permanent markers.

I saw those, i needed a daily schedule, so i just bought the biggest blank dry erase i could find. I thought i would be able to make my own lines with permanent marker but it didnt work out so well.

You may need to try other markers and also try waiting a little bit. They are all solvent based. If you use an alchohol based permanent marker and then go over it with another alchohol based dry erase, the alcohol will re-wet the pigment and resins. The only difference between the markers is dry erase only have pigments, no resins and hardeners, so the pigments just dry back to a powder. From what I understand, Sharpie is one of the best for permanent applications. Otherwise, tape the lines and spray paint.

Office supply stores should carry rolls of 1/4 inch wide tape for just that purpose. I have some on my white board at work; it's great! Failing that, use electrical tape.
