I know there was another post on this but I just cant seem to find it. If someone could help me find the link or tell me what you think the percentage of winning players are that would be great.

I roughly remember that the percentage of winning players is like 10% of all players out there, does anyone disagree? Also, how many do you think break even and how many do you think are professional/could be professional?

And each day there's 100 new fish entering the pond. So, that's why there are so many poor players out there.

Now some of us, are actually willing to put in what it takes to become succesful, but like others have posted, that is NOT the majority.

The majority is driving their pickup truck through the McDonald's drive-thru hurrying to get home to catch the latest episode of Cops or Springer, and play a couple of online poker hands through their 2400 baud modem during the commercials.

C'mon, who can't beat that game?

that quote is such a vast approximation.

Cant poker tracker give this info? actually I doubt it would collect enough hands from others.

Think about how many good players you generaly respect at your typical online table. ..if 10% are winning players then only your the winning player at the 10man table... as ideal as this would be it dosen't sound realistic to me.

Id estimate 20%

I assume 'winning' includes beating the rake. 10% looks about right.
What's the difference between a large cheese pizza and a poker player?

A large cheese pizza can feed a family of four.

10% sounds right for soundly beating the game. Soundly in a sense that they are a known an established winner. The rest are breakeven or losers. Someone who is up 100 bucks at 25nl could still be break even.

I think it's slightly higher online, but not by a lot. I've heard 10% quoted in the context of B&M play, where the rake is higher and there are dealer tokes.

in the PT summary tab it shows how many winning players there are in your databse. it would be interesting to see this % from someone with a very large database.
