Post subject: PC prob - Safely remove hardware icon disappeared

ok so you know the little green usb tray icon that you click to "safely remove hardware" like usb hard drives and such? well mine just doesn't appear anymore when i plug anything in. for some of my drives i can right click them in "my computer" and select eject which seems to work fine. but some don't have that option. i found out how to force the "safely remove hardware" dialog box to come up and none of my flash drives are listed in the box. they all work just fine though. any ideas?
