so how fucked is it now??

right now pc seems to run normally with power and fan works but it beeps 3 times every few seconds. nothing is showing up on monitor and its says its in power save mode but my keyboard and mouse arent working to get it out of power mode.

do i really need to replace the whole harddrive, itll cost about 400-500. if i am able to replace this motherboard thing it may not work anyway, so piss off .

any thoughts?

Hmmm, where does ur PC get to in boot sequence?

Have you moved/replaced any components recently?

MOtherboards arent that difficult to replace and shoudln't really cost you that much more than £100 depending on the spec.

ebuyer is a prety good place to start

I'm not 100% sure ur motherboard has failed though. Seems strange the fan is turning on and everything. I had the same problem on ce, like 3 slow beeps when I replaced some RAM turns out there was some dust on the connectors, or I didnt insert it correctly the first time.

There is a small part on your motherboard with three prongs. There should be a jumper connecting two of them, you need to switch the jumper, then switch it back.

or pull the CMOS battery out for a few minutes and put it back in again.

by chance do you know the motherboard brand since different boards make different beeps. Here is the beep chart for one type of board and 3 beeps would be bad ram. I have had ram fail like this.
http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm

but again, first check the motherboard brand to determine which bios so you can find their beep chart. Found some more

Ram failure is a good first guess.
