so i used to have the bottle opener on my keychain but i opened so many bottles that it wore down and didnt work anymore. ive always had the bottle opener on the bottom of my sandals but ive always felt gross about using it or whatever and besides i dont have that anymore. i have a bunch of beer with me but i cant open it. i know i can open a bottle with a lighter or a knife or along key, and sometimes another bottle, but i need somre more cool ideas.

wedding ring ftw! also like TJ said, resting the lip on a table or countertop works great. Can also be modified to a trailer hitch or the edge of a cooler if you are tailgating.

I have a tiny penknife with a screwdriver blade, which fits decently under the pleats in the bottle cap. Lever them up, move along, lever again, and so on - in about 20 seconds the cap is loose enough to fall off. NB it's easy for your hand to slip, at which point your finger will impale itself on the bottle cap, but that jsut makes it all the more manly.

I don't use my current phone for this because it's so thin that I fear it might actually break in half. The Sony-Ericsson T630 I had before was great for this. I didn't drink beer back when I got my first phone, but I'd bet my left nut that the Nokia 1611 would open anything. Don't have a crowbar handy? No worries, use the 1611.
