I have been reading about some online casino's that offer seemingly pretty profitable bonuses. I decided to deposit 150$ and try my luck trying to clear a few.
The first one i tried was a 100% match to your initial deposit up to 100$, and to clear it you need to wager your deposit+bonus (200$ in this case) 8 times. So 1600 hands if you wager 1$ per hand, or 800 at 2$ per hand, etc...I decided to try and clear this one playing blackjack. I deposited my 100$, recieved 100$ in bonus, and sat down at the table with my 200$ to try and clear the bonus and cash out, with the intent of cashing out my 100$ if i lost the bonus.
In live blackjack the house is only supposed to have a very very silght advantage, 1%-1.5% i think. I have played blackjack before in casino's and know how it's played. To make sure i didn't F up i printed out one of those cheat sheets that tells you exactly what to do depending on what cards you have and what the dealers face up card was. I followed it explicitly. Needless to say (i'm posting this after all), i lost the 100$ bonus credit in about 250~ hands or so betting 2$ per hand, following the rules as per my cheat-sheet and my own personal knowledge of how to play(they were the same). The dealer had 4 blackjacks for every 1 of mine. He also "sucked out" on me so many times on hands where i would have 20, he'd be showing an 8,....I'd stay, he would flip a 2, then an ace, then a ten, and make 21. This kind of ridiculous hand happend SO many times i can't begin to estimate it. 80% of the time the dealer showed a 5 or 6 (they are supposed to bust >50% of the time in these situations) he would pull some crazy running string of cards to give him 19 or 20, and of course i would have stayed with my 15 or 16 like you are supposed to, knowing he's supposed to bust in the long run.
Are these things rigged? Has anyone tried whoring these bonuses? I'm the first to admit that very very very slim statistics are still POSSIBLE. But this string of bad luck seemed very unlikely to me, on the border of being rigged.

Sorry PokerPatNEU, for your negative experience. It sounds like you did everything right.
I've made thou$and$ doing casino bonuses.
I know from your bonus description, PokerPatNEU, that you went to one of two casinos offering that bonus. (I hope you played the java version.) There are rigged casinos out there. This one wasn't one of them.
Busting happens. I've busted about 1/10th of my casino ventures, which has cost me a total of approximately $1200 - Variance!
The other 9/10ths of my casino ventures have given me many times more reward. On top of the bonus gains or misses, I have received more than $1200 in 'unexpected' gains - Variance!
So the bonuses are worth it. The variance only hurts when it is early on.
I'm just glad my first casino venture wasn't a loss, or I would have given up. My first bust was for 200 GBP, or around $360 -- my stomach flopped, but then I remembered the $1400 I'd already taken from casinos, and I realized it was worth it.
I feel like I've barely scratched the surface, and I understand I missed the 'heyday' of casino bonuses. I can't even imagine. Free money.

Man dude i bet ive played 20x the blackjack as anyone on this site since I cleared em for a ton of people on here who didnt want to do it themselves. I highly doubt anything is rigged and if u go on long losing streaks ur just as likely to go on long winning streaks - starluck for example - i played my friends and busted bettin 5 dollars before even half of it was clear - thats starting with 200 and only having to wager 1600. I cleared my other friends starluck doing the exact same thing with 5 dollars a hand and he had cashed out nearly 500. It was the best streak I ever had but they go both ways. Of course that isnt the average but until you play about 5,000 blackjack hands and average em all together u cant say much about stuff being rigged.
And trust me man I used to think exactly like u. I used to have the most unlikely shit happen to me over and over but as u play more and more u see weird crap happen to the casino just as much. Once I hit on 11 and got 21 like 10 times in a row.

yup. makes me sad too
but i got going as soon as I turned 18, so I can't beat myself up *too* much
My first bonus was fortunately a risk free bonus (omni casino), which I busted out a $100 bonus after wagering about $600 on $5 pontoon. Then I hit it big at william hill and the rest is history.
Keep at it. When I look at my stats now, taking out the royal flush I got when I was working a sticky bonus ($5 a hand VP = $4000 YAY!), my profit is pretty much exactly the same as my EV for all the bonuses combined.

I actually just cleared the StarLuck casino bonus last night and it has the exact same requirements. I also played blackjack at $2 a hand and used a chart from wizardofodds.com. I hit a rediculously bad run right after I started and was down to $123 of my initial $200. I've cleared these bonus on other sites playing BJ and I knew it would even out and it did. I eventually finished clearing it at $236 for a profit of $136.
I really don't thing online casinos are rigged anymore than I do online poker rooms. If you are worried, I would stick to the larger, more credible sites or not even play at them at all. The house advantage is <1% if you use correct strategy. When making small bets like you were you shouldn't go bust, but it happens. Again, if you're worried about it then simply avoid them.

from a pure mathematical perspective, yes, of course the games are rigged. the house edge is not 1.5%, it's often 5% or more depending on the rules (e.g. does dealer hit on soft 17?).
in terms of rigging the software, there would be no point, since the game is already rigged mathematically and thus there is no way a casino can possibly lose in the long run.

I just cleared the Starluck, went up to 220, down to 136, back up to 180 and boomed at the end to finish at 241. Just variance.

You think playing a couple hundred hands is enough to give you a statistical record? You need to play millions of hands. If you do that then your overall losses will equal the statistical probabilities. The fact that you blew through your buy-in because the dealer got some better cards is statistically meaningless.

I found a 2p on the table in a pub once. Was just sat there flipping it while I chatted with some mates and it came up tails like every single time. Flipped it about 12 times and it was tails every single time. I decided to offer one of my mates a bet. $2 if I win, £2.50 if he wins. Of course he accepts and of course it comes up heads...
So Rigged

No, cause it had come out tails a lot it was more likely to be heads that time. Had it come out tails again, your mate should have tilted off the rest of his money, then put it on the bad beat forum.
