I suck at cooking bacon, but found out you can microwave it.
Turned out awesome.
Two paper towels, bacon, paper towel on top
1 minute per strip

This is the only way I cook bacon!
couple of notes:
-it's delicious
-it's healthier than frying it in grease
-it's easy as shit and clean up is super easy, you just stick the pie plate in the dishwasher and the paper towels in the garbage.

what fun is it if it hasn't been soaking in grease for 10 minutes though. how is it going to clog your arteries cooking it like that?

jesus christ, put a skillet on the stovetop, put it on medium low or medium, wait a couple minutes and put desired amount of bacon in. turn occasionally. it isn't that hard and it tastes 10x better than microwave.
newsflash: bacon has a very high % fat content and is pre-salted/flavored. it's going to taste delicious no matter how you make it so long as you don't REALLY f it up, like you don't cook it at all or you burn it to a crisp. this is why it still tastes good in the microwave but its still much better in a skillet and it's surprisingly easy as well.

do it like a real cook does. 2 cast iron pants.... heat both to high heat, lay the bacon down in the big pan, nestle the small pan on top. cook the bacon at a ridiculously high speed, (turn the heat down to medium, or have a really nice fire extinguisher ready.)
gads... microwaved bacon.

microwaved bacon is good. it cooks alot more of the fat out of it and it doesnt make a huge greasy mess.

But it is so much faster in the microwave. Like if I want to make a good breakfast, some eggs hash browns toast and bacon. Before I had to start the bacon ahead of everything else and I had bacon grease and a nasty pan to clean.
Three dirty paper towel > dirty pan grease splatters

you are going very wrong sumwhere if bacon is taking longer than hash browns or eggs

What's there someone on here that cooks their eggs or whatever in the leftover bacon grease in the frying pan? Crazy shit.

uhh unless you are hard boiling your eggs or you have paper thin (lolcheapmeat) bacon than you are most likely doing something wrong if your bacon cooks in the same time as your eggs.
edit: unless of course youre making really really good scrambled eggs which take like half an hour, but this is above and beyond the standard and therefore op would not be doing anything wrong if this wasnt his course of action.

That's pretty old school. Actually it gives the eggs a nice bacony-flavor if you don't mind the extra fat. Dad always fixed 'em that way.

that would be me. What people don't realize though is that i poor off the extra grease and even wipe it down with a paper towel so there really isn't a whole lot left at all. Plus if you really want to go down the health road, 1. bacon and eggs probably isn't the best idea to begin with (maybe start with oatmeal and egg whites or something). and 2. people think that cooking with vegetable oils is healthy or something and they are completely wrong. superheating (i.e. cooking) with oils turns them into hydrogenated fats which are worse than saturated/animal fats.

thats what frying is...
well actually fat does not boil, water does, so its the water from the egg and bits of bacon still in the pan that are causing the bubbling.

if youre making sunny side up eggs then you shouldnt be pouring off much of the bacon grease. but making eggs w/ leftover bacon grease is wtf standard.

eggs fried in leftover bacon fat is super standard and really not that difficult to comprehend.
Do some of you clean up the pan and then start again or something?

flomo, its honestly not bad per se, its just not good.
the problem with cooking it in a pan is that most people overcrowd the pan and the grease gets too deep. When this happens submerged parts get deep fried and burn while exposed parts dont cook very fast. Also people seem to set the temp way too high, low and slow for bacon imo.

Also, center cut bacon, FTW. It's more expensive but it goes on sale for 1/2 off all the time by me.
