Now, normally I generally think people over react to anything that could be deemed 'racist'. Generally I think people are too quick jumping the gun in saying something is racially insensitive. However, I feel that this is not one of those situations. This may be because I myself am half Chinese and have a personal involvement. Am I far off? FWIW I agree with the statement in the article that reads
"a simple, "the ad was in poor taste, we apologize" would have sufficed."

this is not racism. racism is treating somebody differently due to race. this is poking fun at a group of people, which when the group is a different race everybody claims it's racist. its not. its no more different than if they were competing against geeks, and they all wore glasses with tape in the middle.
just because its not racist doesnt mean its not offensive. if somebody has a vagina full of sand and rocks and shrubs and all kinds of rubble then they're gonna get upset over being razzed. it is quite devolved to do so, but hey what do you expect from a species that can equate making fun of somebody because of something about them to killing somebody for the same reason
this pic is only in bad taste if spain will allow themselves to be accused of racism because of it.

I think the word you are looking for is 'unprofessional', maybe even 'embarrassing', given the stage they are on, how much attention they are getting, and how they are expected to conduct themselves.
