Nah, I'm pretty sure my opinion of Joe Gibbs won't change even if the Redskins win this game.

wtf is your issue with joe gibbs, the guy is a hall of famer who is arguably one of the greatest coaches of all time (obviously not the greatest but can easily be argued as top 5).

No doubt the Eagles win tonight. The Skins have question marks all over their offense and while their defense is solid, it's no match for McNabb and Westbrook. And just because the media says it doesn't make it false, Joe Gibbs never should have come back to the NFL.
I'll gladly put some $ on the Eagles -6.5.

I hate taking moneyline favorites, but I'll split the difference on what the books are offering (2.77:1) just to make it interesting. So I'll bet $138 to your $50 if you want.
Anyone else who wants action, I'd prefer to give the points.

ISF,
I totally agree about not letting the national media tell you what to think. You can be more informed than the national media, on pretty much any topic, simply by paying close attention and doing one's own research, especially since a lot of TV reporters are pretty stupid human beings. I'm such a huge dork about sports that I watch almost half of the games that are played in the NFL ( DVR and NFL replay) so my opinions are definitely mine and not theirs.
Joe Gibbs makes a lot of in-game decisions that can't be justified on any level. For example, kicking a 40-yard FG on 1st down in overtime last week. I realize there's more to being a coach than what goes on during games and I'm not qualified to judge those things.

NFL has gotten so much tougher and more competitive since those SB wins so it's hard to use those as barometers of how well he is going to do in the modern era. I just think coaches like him, Coughlin, Parcells (last year) are just too old school and stuck in their beliefs to make any real push towards a superbowl. None of them have in recent memory.
That said, redskins are looking good tonight, and their defense is smothering the Eagles O except on this drive. 4th and 3 coming up...........

I take back what I said. Both teams suck, but the Redskins suck less. It's going to be a long season.

Will they win a championship in my lifetime? Honest to god, that's all I'm asking for. If I knew that just one of the four teams I root for was going to win the big one SOMETIME before I die, I'd be content. (But preferably while I'm still young enough to enjoy getting stupid shitfaced celebrating.)

jesus christ mcnabb srsly did not look in playing shape. he hung so many receivers out to dry, underthrew balls, overthrew balls...god. what a fucking mess.
i'm on utter life tilt.
lkj;asdflkjasdflkj;asdkl;jaksldfjklsadf
WHY
they look flat. they've had one offensive touchdown so far this season. no urgency...so many clutch plays fucked up by guys not named brian westbrook. seriously, other than tomlinson, i don't know any other running back i'd rather have on my team. ffs, one touchdown in twenty three possessions....JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESUSSSSSSS.

gibbs really only won 2 super bowls, but was a good 80s coach. I don't see him becoming awesome again...
jason campbell looks fantastic, what an arm!
I think McNabb is done, Garcia looked better with the same offense.

yep, easily not PI, and Theismann is still denying it like a little baby, though they lost the sb that year
go back and look but read the PI rules from that era. PI is now called totally differently.
and roger craig owns john riggins, who is like the worst HoF ever
the strike season sb stuff, maybe you have one legit sb at best, sorry the redskins are the most overrated franchise ever

You have a bad memory, the Skins didn't win the super bowl that year. They lost to the Raiders.

111.
Although i feel like it was more the Eagles beating themselves than the skins winning. Mcnabb looked terrible.
The skins still have a lot of problems. 4th quarter defense, Campbell is still shaky, O-lines getting banged up, and stupid little mistakes like the false starts and that really bad delay of game.
The Bye week comes at a perfect time, hopefully Randy Thomas will be back soon and Campbell will start being more on target.

guess you had the thread open and replied after my edit
yes, I was thinking they won that year at first.
however, i also remember their strike shortened sb shiat
the only thing to like about the redskins is doug williams
and john riggins is still super average

Just a HU for you Redskins fans. our secondary is shit. Jason Campbell is not as good as he looked Sunday. Look what happened to the Eagles, they scored 52 against us and the next week they are held to 3 against NY. Our defense is just awful right now.

Agreed, but just because your defense is bad doesn't mean we can't take away positives on offense. Campbell had been constantly overthrowing guys and tossing easy INT's in previous games. He made some really good throws and hit the easy stuff well. What really impressed me though is how good he was in the redzone. It's awesome to have a mobile guy who can just make something happen.
You have to admit we blanketed your offense, which is what impressed me the most. I think Martz called a horrible game though, he should've just kept running the ball, you guys weren't getting and less than 4 yards a chunk.

lol redskins.
ill be at the next game in green bay. packers 31 skins 10
packers should be 5-0 but they gave the last one to the bears with all the shitty turnovers. and gay ref calls. like bears kicking a FG make it... but oh wait one guy was lined up with his helmet at an angle to the fuckin center. 1st down. touchdown. and they reviewed a play that the bears clearly had 12 men on the field and it wasnt overturned lol. wtf all the ref to do was count the players on the field in the replay and he couldnt do it. that 12 men thing wasnt that big of a deal it just pisses me off that refs can mess that kind of thing up with a replay though.
