if/when they ever do face, i'd be glad to put money on lesnar at vegas odds.
this article: http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2009/7/30...ions-fedor-gsp outlines a lot of my problems with fedor.
Sweet. I'm sure there will be a ton of action on Lesnar. Unless my read on Fedor/Lesnar changes between now and then, I'm gonna be putting as much spare money on that match as I can. Which I hope is a lot, but may not be. I also doubt that my opinion will change much since it's based on my personal analysis of their fights, but there's always some unforeseen data that could appear between now and then
Having said that, I doubt the match happens. Fedor will probably just go to some other organization, bankrupt them, then a different one, bankrupt them, then lose a fight and nobody will like him anymore and the UFC will LOL. Fedor can't afford to lose a fight outside of UFC IMO. Losing in UFC would be fine, but not outside.
And with regards to the article, it kind of ignores the fact that it's dealing with probabilities and that Fedor DESTROYED his opposition instead of just merely defeating them. Now, had Fedor gone to decision against all the 'past prime' fighters, then he would be looking much worse. Having said that, Fedor has had some very scary moments in his career where it looks like he got pretty lucky and came out on top. But having said that, Lesnar has some rather big weaknesses that we haven't seen much of, and that nobody's talking about.
For example: his endurance is garbage. Just watch the Couture fight. Round 2 and Lesnar slows down big time. I'll be quite surprised if he could last a full five and win without being way ahead in the first couple rounds. Lesnar is very big, strong, and technically proficient, but IMO his only true advantage over a fighter like Fedor is his highly methodical GnP that he displayed against Mir. Every other aspect, however, Fedor is more skilled, and given Fedor's stand up, speed, and sambo, I see don't see him being on his back, in the only real threatened position, that often. Once is enough, though. If Lesnar can pull that off he'll be so huge. Or he could get a lucky strike, but that's about it IMO. I REALLY want this fight to happen...
Now que spoon telling me how I'm wrong
