That's true, but what Silva did was all a part of his normal strategy that has gotten him so many knockouts. Weidman wasn't biting the way everybody else has bit before, so Silva tried even harder, which turned his perceived vulnerability into actual vulnerability. I think if we saw Silva get in the boxing ring with anybody top level, we would see the same sort of thing. Weidman kept the distance and the feints right, and Silva wasn't able to get the aggressiveness from Weidman he wanted until he wasn't expecting it.
It's about time somebody exposed Silva. People don't fight tip top competition like that and get away with it on a regular basis, so when Silva was supposedly doing it, it meant something strange was going on. That strange thing is that all his opponents were playing Silva's game instead of countering it.
Granted it is still interesting to think that Silva could change everything and come out aggressive like a Leben or whatever, but ultimately that won't help him because he's gotten his KO's by not doing that. He's not like Wand, he can't charge in and get headshots. He has to bait his opponent. "Serious Silva" is a myth. He was as serious as usual in the first fight. He just got handled
