Now that a number of electronics manufacturers have announced that they're bringing out 3D and internet enabled TVs, besides being oh-so-pleased with myself that over the last few years I've managed to hold off on spending a grand or two on a widescreen that's about to become very obsolete, what should I plan on buying, and when?
Wait till my Mitsubishi CRT dies of natural causes?

You're going to want to wait.
It's just like not being the first to buy an islate. They'll come out with a 2nd generation a few months after the first with the big bugs worked out.

CRT? SRSLY? Cmon now get yourself a decent screen pronto old man.
Sounds like you need to rid yourself from that fear of new technolgy. Seems really funny to me that someone with an old CRT is afraid to by a new TV because of something as frivolous as 3D??? If you haven't been missing HD for the last 5 years, then for sure you won't miss 3D when it comes around. You can get 3D when you widescreen goes busto in 20 years anyway, if you're still around that is :P
I might be biased since I have 7 screens at home though. And that not counting the screens in my mobile devices.

how silly? don't wait.
i heard the price of those 3D screens will be inexpensive when they come on the market and then go up. if i could i would buy as soon as possible.
i've already started ebaying my blurays--those were a huge waste
seriously though i agree with P4s, just buy a new TV

probably BS - buy asap if you get some kinda kick out of being one of the first few people to experience the new technology, otherwise just wait a while and other manufacturers'll get into the game and drive prices down...
