it doesnt matter what obama's views are, or mccain's views. All that matters is that i refuse to vote for someone that is 60ish and is just now learning how to use the internet without realizing that announcing this to the public is probably a bad idea.

Obama looked like shit at the Saddleback forum. McCain looked great. That was a great 2 hours if nobody watched it. Each person given the stage and asked the same questions (which were unknown to them so they couldn't prepare) while the other was unable to hear the answers. Obama looked very uncomfortable and very wishy washy. When asked when he thought human life started he said that was above his pay scale. WTF?? Abortion is a huge issue and he can't even answer what HIS view is? We all know he is pro choice so say it you wuss. If its above the pay scale of the most important job in the world who's going make those decisions when legislation time comes?

One of the toughest choices they had to face in life. McCain says when he was given the choice to leave the Hanoi Hilton even though it was someone else's turn to go. He was in terrible physical shape and wasn't sure if he was going to make it out. But he told them to let the other guy go because he had been there 2 years longer.

If anybody didn't watch this thing you should find it and watch it. I think it was a great way to hear canidates positions when they have no idea what the questions will be and can't prepare for them. Obama isn't near the great speaker everybody makes him out to be when he doesn't have a staff writing his speeches.

So McCain doesn't waste hours on youtube and doesn't have a myspace page. Yeah, we can't have that leading the country.

Yeah, McCain did really well, considering he heard the questions in advance.

Obama's latest fail on abortion is just another in a long line of fails... FISA flip, gun control "against it before i was for it", promises of campaign reform, etc. etc.

The guy's no different than any other politician saying anything to get a vote and I'm sick of people thinking he's different.

McCain sucked the cock of the religious right for the last eight years, and I'm sick of that pandering bullshit. I would have gladly voted him in 2000... no more. And that's sad because I really, really don't believe there is a man who loves this country more than John McCain.

Ron Paul was truly our last chance at real change, and even I didn't know it until it was too late. I read his book a month or two ago, it was quite enlightening. He came off as a nutjob on TV, but he's really not.

I think we're just fucked no matter what, but I think the only rational choice is to hope enough people vote 3rd party that someone sits up and listens.

America is not what it used to be. Not trying to be melodramatic, but I'm really not sure that revolution isn't inevitable, whether it be in the next 10 or the next 100 years. We have become specifically that which our founders warned us not to be.

He's got some great ideas and qualities, absolutely. He's the one guy I thought could help turn around the economy in a sustainable way. But the brother doesn't believe in evolution...calls it poppycock. That's a little bit of nutjobbery.

But he believes in competition of ideas and he thinks the government should stay out of education all together. So how is that even relevant?

I completely agree with this statement.

However, I have a real issue with people getting pissed off about "flip-flopping" or "changing ideas".... People seem to HIGHLY VALUE someone that never changes their mind, regardless of any "new" evidence, or alternative/conflicting ideas. Logical reasoning and critical thinking skills are not something to be ridiculed... (and, yes, I'm criticizing all parties, people, family, friends etc. in this statement).
So you click their picture and then you get their money?

LOL, yeah sure he did. Obama stumbled and McCain aced it. He MUST have heard the questions before.

    Quoted for truth.

The distinction SHOULD be made between politicians who 'change their minds' based only on public opinion, and those who have change their minds based on new facts.

okay lets start with the two biggest: the war, off-shore drilling. not to mention continuing the bush tax cuts. i think obama opposes NAFTA, not sure though because he's flip flopped on it so many times. there are certainly things that they agree on, but to say you are voting for the same person is way off.

The war is a minor thing if you look at their foreign policy as a whole. They are both imperialists and interventionists. USA today has 700 bases in 130 countries and neither one of them will change that. Also, neither one of them opposes pre-emptive war on any principal basis. They just happen to have different views on this very specific war. But both of them may very well start another inaffordable war.

When it comes to energy they are both central planners. They may have different plans, but it's the planning itself that's the problem. The only thing that makes any sense is to abolish the department of energy completely. Also, the current energy crisis is largely a monetary issue. Neither one of them even mentions the harm that the federal reserve does to the economy.

The tax cuts are simply a joke when they aren't combined with less government spending. Any cut in conventional taxes will simply be compensated for by the inflation tax. Considering that's one of the most harmful taxes, a tax raise would probably be better long term right now.

All in all, a vote for Mcbama is to continue down a destructive path. They might walk down that path at slightly different speeds but that doesn't matter because they are both walking in the wrong direction.

It's not relevant to his qualifications for POTUS. It IS relevant in response to euph suggesting he's not a nutjob.

at this point in time, the worst thing affecting this country politically is religious fundamentalism. voting them out of office as much we can will not only get them out of office now, but will reduce how much politicians cater to them while in office and in future elections.
