Prediction is that next week TU goes to Lubbock and loses, giving TT the tikebreaker even though they'll lose to OU I'm not sure who would get into the Big 12 title game vs Mizzou, however, Mizzou wins that game and no Big 12 team gets to the title game.
USC vs OSU once again proving how shitty the BCS is. It's disgusting to think this is actually possible as I don't see 'Bama winning out and it's always better to lose early than late.

Too many teams have to lose for this to happen.. a lot of them twice.
It's always better to lose early than late, true, but SEC and big 12 teams have a lot of big games to make up for that.. both on their schedule and the conf. title games.
Penn State could win out and not get a sniff at the title game. That would be a shame (both because it would mean they'd win tonight, and because it would be genuinely unfair).

also let me get this straight,
- rilla makes a stupid, incoherent thread about a drinking game for his stupid school
- rilla locks an actual thread about college football before it even gets a chance to get started
- rilla then locks the original thread about his stupid school, presumably because his school is stupid and lost (again)
- we then make make (yet) another thread about college football
- i feel like i'm missing something

Why should Penn State get into a title game when they will have 1 legit tough game all year?
Like you are going to tell me if Texas goes on to lose to TTU or Mizzou in the Big 12 title game and if Penn St. goes undefeated they deserve to be ranked ahead of Texas?
Same could be said for Bama if they lose a tough game at LSU should they really be penalized for that?

All, OSU could easily get in
let's think about it,
Tech, OU, and UT will have to have a combined 3 losses, Bama could easily lose to LSU who just lost to UGA today, Georgia still has to play UF who has to go into Tallahassee in their final game not to mention the SEC title game.
/deep breath
So, OSU wins tonight, moves up to like 6-7 in the polls, then Tech loses next week and Bama falters at LSU and now they're looking at 4-5 status, OU and Tech still haven't played, that could leave OU with 2 losses and you know for sure they'll move a 1-loss OSU team ahead of a 1-loss TTU team (who would have beat everyone but Texas). USC cakewalks their schedule and people forgot they lost to an absolutely awful Oregon State team.
Anyways, like a McDonald's commercial, HEY, IT COULD HAPPEN.

I was trying to agree with you that the BCS is a messed up system and that a playoff would be better. If Texas, Bama, and Penn State all go undefeated, clearly Penn State should be the team left out.. that's just how the system works. I'm saying if that happened, it would be a prime example of the inherent unfairness in the BCS.
If Penn State wins out though and either Texas or Bama loses a game, I'm still going with that protocol.. meaning that Penn State should (and will) play in the title game.

For cliff notes, I opened a cfb thread, another was opened I thought we only needed one, others insisted we needed a different one so I compromised.

And dude, I love VT football and these have been two painful losses so please don't. I can't believe posts on this message board have gotten to me like this.

That's just how the system works...
0 loss SEC/big-12 team gets in over 0 loss big 10 team
0 loss big 10 team gets in over 1 loss SEC/big-12 team
It's so frustratingly obvious how broken that system is.. but it's almost like a way of correcting itself and making it at least somewhat fair.
Also, re: Pryor, the guy doesn't even look like he's trying but he absolutely flies.

You guys *do* realize you're trying to make logical sense of a system that has rutinely fucked its fans for the past 8 years right?
I mean, eventually Einsteins working defnition of insanity comes into play here on a very elementary level.
"Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results each time"

Someone explain this to me:
Ok St. goes on the road and loses a close battle to Texas in Austin and they lose two spots in the rankings. I don't get how you can penalize the 7th ranked team in the nation for barely losing on the road in CFB (I'd have to ask Lee but I think home field advantage is as much as a 6pt. edge in oddsmakers minds).
