Surprised noones started a thread on this yet. Got mine yesterday, with Wii Sports and Zelda (wanted super monkey ball, but was sold out by 8 in the morning!!)
Its pretty good, the control systems is fun, (makes option menus like shoot'em ups). Wii sports is also good fun in groups, def has drinking game potential.

wii rocks; i actually feel sorry for the competitors.
(i'm not a fanboi or anything, i just can't imagine ppl buying one of those after fiddling with the wii)

Be careful with the strap if you have a really nice expensive tv. People have been letting go of them on like tennis and stuff when swinging as hard as they can (sweaty hands, just slips), the strap breaks, and smashes into very expensive plasma and lcd tvs breaking them. There was a site somewhere I saw that just had pictures of all these broken tvs wii remotes smashed into. Id reinforce it with something if you know youll swing as hard as you can with it.

gah im jealous. I've searched Montreal inside out and noone has any EVER. They keep saying to call the next day to see if they got any in, but it's been like two weeks since their last shipment. I drool thinking about playing Punchout with a classic controler. Glass Joe here i come

I got mine on the day it came out, actually got a ticket at target for one and then went to best buy about an hour before they started handing out tickets and got one for my mom for my little brother. Wii sports is definately tons of fun when your drinking with friends. Ive also had the controller fly out of my hand playing tennis becuase my hand was sweaty. Because of that i bought one of the rubber sleeves and that has seemed to help some.

Yeah, I was hoping to be able to buy one off the shelf in the spring. Guy working at best buy told me I probably wouldn't be able to walk into a store and grab one until summer.

You guys are forgetting that Sony loses like $700 per system. They don't want to sell systems for Christmas they want to sell software. These shortages are generally created because they need to find a nice balance of software sales in with their hardware. So they intentionally slow the sales of the hardware until the software catches up.
On top of that they lost a ton of money trying to speed up the rtelease of the PS3 to stay competitive and not disappear too long from the market. So they're in a bad financial place as they spent all that extra money and now the PS3 will cannibalize the PS2 stuff sales which they were hoping to ride for a few more years.
Apparently Nintendo is the only gaming company making money right now.

It's awesome, and I've hardly touched the 360 since.
