If you haven't seen this new TV show it's about nine people in a bank holdup/hostage taking and the aftermath thereof. One of "The Nine" is a cop with a gambling problem and, in last night's episode, what did they show him doing near the end of the show?....you guessed it....firing up an online poker site in his office, ffs. My g/f says. "Oh look! Another addict!"
He better be playing blackjack, that's all I can say.

dude wtf.. this show is terrible. Beyond terrible. Seriously I really cant understand what the fuck ABC was thinking, pulling invasion and slapping this pos in its slot. The only reason this show gets watched is because lost is on before it. I honestly have watched every ep just because its on after lost and I dont feel motivated to move. I sit and laugh to myself as a watch this sad excuse for television..

how is it not that bad? What is even happening in the show? Whats the conflict? There is none. And the directing is absolutely horrible. The scene where they are walking the bankrobber through the hospital, and they are playing some old blues: worst scene ever, terrible directing, terrible music selection, god this show is bad.
Every show is trying to be like lost. I heard thats a big reason invasion got the can, the networks forced the hands of people who actually cared about the show. They made them make it more like lost and it ruined the show. The formula is not going to work for every show. But in the case of the nine, thats the least of thier problems, the show just plain sucks. Characters are terribly shallow, youve got the nerd, the rough around the edges cop, the slutty girl, the strong working woman, community leader black man, ect. No depth at all.
Its just obvious that the people behind this show have no influences, they just thought "hey lets make a show." Lost is good for the same reason the matrix was good. They are heavily influenced by many different things that have never quite been brought together in this way, it makes for a well refined, yet new and refreshing expierence.

I have watched a lot of 'The Nine' so far...it's way too damn much of a frickin soap opera...only reason I've really watched is that I only watch 2 other shows nowadays...the new 'Heroes' show which is really entertaining and 'The Shield' for which this season hasn't started yet so The Nine is kinda a fillin for the time being. Only thing that keeps me watching is the first minute or so where they reveal a little bit more of what actually happened in the bank...other than that it's pretty damn slow-going and a lot of the characters plain suck.

Im not a 24 fan either. The main character is not engaging at all. Also the things he does seem extremely mundane considering hes supposed to be our equivilent to 007 or something. Also the show is based around a gimmick, sometimes this turns out well, most of the time it doesnt.
I do love the shield though, vick is the fucking man. Possibly the most badass tv show character ever.

Six Feet Under was my favorite TV series for a while, and is still way up there.
Big Love is a good premium-channel-TV serties that is still on the air.
Also, I hear that Entourage is really good, but I've never seen it.

Entourage is the shit! Anyone who hasnt seen it, go buy the first 2 seasons, and you can torrent the third season since it isnt out yet.
I personally dont like the sopranos .. I guess I see the appeal, but I didnt watch it to start off, so I dont know the characters. I think there are much better shows on tv.
Did anyone else watch the mini series band of brothers, I thought that was one of the best miniseries ever made.
