gary roberts is even more badass when you consider a couple of things. his age, and the fact that he retired several years ago with serious back/neck problems care of, among other things, being body slammed across the cross bar by trevor linden several years back.

I agree that the west is very strong this year, while the east...not so much.
The only bad thing about the west is that whoever makes it to the final will most likely be tired and beat up.
It seems as if every team in the east that is favoured to go far this year is a team that hasn't gone deep in the playoffs for years, while in the west, it's the same teams as last year that are favourites—Detroit, San Jose, Anaheim etc...
Although I think if Calgary can knock off San Jose, they are going to go all the way. Just like Edmonton did two years ago.
