I'm new to the whole sports betting thing. I'll probably start this week. Is there any place that gives good free picks? I definately don't want to pay for them and I know there are some places that give some out for free, any suggestions? I'll probably just end up making my own picks. Lets hope that I can pick winners.

Try handicapping for yourself. Maybe even use play money, if you don't want to put up a bankroll and all that.

The rest of us are keeping our picks in the week 2 thread here in this forum. Good to see you, Les_Worm.

twominutewarningDOTcom has freebies that are decent. Their pay service is like $100 for the season.

I'll just pick my own I suppose and I'll post them. I won't make picks till Saturday though. I don't really want to place bets to make money, I just want to make watching the games a little more fun and I think that betting on them will make it more interesting and obviously if I can make money at the same time it would make it just that much better.

If you have some spare cash you could deposit $50 somewhere and make $5 bets. That's where I started (I'm not far away), more for fun than profit.

I am + lifetime, but not a life-changing, or even a BR building amount.

If it's just for fun, depositing $50 somewhere and amking $5 would be fine.

However, in terms of pure bankroll management, if you were planning to approach this like you approach poker, that would be HORRIBLE bankroll management.

I fully agree with ensign and did not mean to imply otherwise.

Definately more just for fun. I won't be making any big bets.
