my monitor takes up almost 1 cubic mile. i want a new one that is skinny and has high resolution. $200 is a good price. any recomendations? if possible, i would like to be able to buy it in person instead of order it, but that could change if i find an unbeatable deal.
thanks in advance.

$200? what are you, a tightwad?
You probably spend 8 hours a day looking at your monitor, spend a few bucks. That's my advice.

I've got this one, its flatscreen and works very well. Its $235, but well worth it.

you might be able to find this in stores, but newegg is cheaper and by no means unreliable.

dell has some sick deals on their stuff.
dell 2005fpw (20" widescreen) can be had for under $400 w/ coupons.
dell 2405fpw (24" widescreen) can be had for under $800 w/ coupons.
just search online a bit and spend a little bit more...a nice widescreen lcd is an awesome investment.

I think 17" LCDs are around $200, and I've seen nice 19" LCDs for as low as $250. I'd go for the 19" or larger. Dell and Samsung are the shiznit. If you plan to play games/watch movies on it, pay attention to the response time of the monitor.. 16ms or less is best so you don't notice ghosting effects as much.

Actually Dells are crap from a technical standpoint. Samsung is where you will get the best bang for your buck.

yeah but dells 24" monitor is about half the price of samsungs. and a lot of people believe samsung is making the dell 2005fpw and the 2405fpw.
but i agree, samsung >>> everything when it comes to monitors.

The contrast ratio's and response times on the average Samsung LCD kick the crap out of those cheap arse Dell LCD's.

But is it worth it considering the price you pay?
My guess is no. There's always a better product but sometims price is the number one factor.
A monitor is a monitor and as long as you already have one it is a necessary expense. I would maybe hold off on a monitor and save your money. You aren't going to win any more by buying it and right now it is just a luxury. Maybe use the extra cash to move up in stakes?

You can multitable MUCH more easily (and I'm going to guess profitably) if you can run 4 tables with no overlap. I'd call this a necessary expense.

consider that dell monitors (2405/2005) have ben getting better reveiws than the likes of apple. true, theyre not samsung and never will be, but theyre certainly worth it for the money.
im going to be buying the 2405 in a few days cause its so damn cheap for a 24" and its one of the best LCDs on the market. the only better 24s are the samsung, (possibly) a viewsonic and (possibly) a sony.
anyway, if i wanted to spend 1700+ on a monitor (samsung 24"), id probably end up just saving a little more and buying sharp's 37" for 2200 when it came out.

looking for a LCD or CRT.
LCD are great for space saving and such just rare to find one with small pixels unlike the CRTs which will go beyond 1600x1200.
Want my old CRT 17" flat in front great viewsonic ill sell it cheap to

I recently bought a 19" BenQ 12ms monitor for $369CDN. I'm very pleased with it. Migrating from a 17" CRT it is a monster difference.

It's a 19" CRT, but it offers incredible resolution and is pretty damn cheap just about everywhere.

I've got a huge ass 20" CRT that weighs a ton. I do overlap but thats not the monitor's fault, thats my video card. Upgrading the vid card is most likely cheaper and will solve many overlap problems on most monitors.
Is buying a monitor really THAT profitable? At what % of your BR is it worth?
