anyone remember playing that basketball game knockout when you were a kid? it was like you got in a line, and if the 1st person shoots, and if the 2nd person can make a shot before the 1st person, the 1st is knocked out, and it goes on and on and on until only 1 person is left.

the drinking game plays exactly like knockout, but instead of racing to get your ball in the basket, you race to get your cup drank and it flipped. make sense??

How many people were you playing with? Sounds like there might be a lot of downtime.

no more downtime then a normal game of flipcup? It's basically just an near-endless version with no teams.

Sounds cool. For some reason I was picturing people lining up behind the table like you would in basketball

My friends play a quarters variation.

2 shot glasses, 2 quarters (standard). Glass in middle with 1/4 beer or something.

Now, when someone gets stuck with two shot glasses they drink. Except instead of stopping play and resetting, the person behind who just made it passes the glass to the player in front of the drinker and play continues.

If you make it on your first shot you can give the shot glass to whoever you want.

Sounds stupid writing it up, but it's really fun and results in a lot of drinking. Plus if someone mediocre is stuck between two good people they'll end up drinking a lot with barely a chance to even make a shot attempt.

We called it lightning where I grew up.

Would be a crazy drinking game, but a little on the dangerous side for consumption.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

for me lightning and knockout had a distinction, and that is in knockout you can hit the persons ball. i assume you can't hit the other persons cup?
