or just post anything else. Canadian sites help too.
Note: I am not a Hardcore gamer. I pretty much want this computer to have Poker, ventrilo, aim, msn, poker tracker running. Nothing really spectacular. Post comments or w.e you think would be the right way to go.

I was like wow why is the A64 machine more than the Sempron, then I saw it was a refurb.
Either one will handle what you need to do just fine. So I would say the sempron since it has the 1 year warranty.
It wont hold up against any games that are recent thos with a x200 integrated vid card and only 512mb ram.

Just dont try to play Doom 3 and it should be fine, a quick look around and I couldnt find a better deal

If poker is all you want to run, this system is about $300 too expensive.

Don't underestimate the cross-border fees; on electronics, eduties+taxes+fees = -EV in a lot of cases.
Take it from a fellow Canuck

my vote is a cheap dell box. they got promotions going left and right, so you might be able to score a nice free upgrade. plus dell support is pretty solid.

I have a 3+ year old AMD 1700+. I can 5 table Party with PokerTracker and GameTime+ running and there is ZERO lag. I also paid $125 for a newer vid card recently and it can play all the new games at high res.
So, what I'm saying here is you DON'T need a high end box to do what you're asking.
If you have a local computer shop that has a web page, post the link and I can help you to pick the components.
