Im thinking about buying a new desktop and wondering what route I should take. I have a desktop now but would need to purchase a new copy of windows xp to be able to use it. In buying a new one all I would be doing is playing poker on it, really nothing else. Recommendations?

It's usually ugly but for the money and ease of use, you can't beat laminate. Granite or marble looks great but who wants that kind of maintenance?

Poured concrete is more expensive too but is easier if your desk can support the weight. I'd stay away from that though if you're gonna play poker on it. It's cold and the cards won't slide as well.

BTW, just curious, why don't you buy a real poker table? It's clearly better than playing on a desk top.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

in all seriousness, you cant really go wrong. Desktops are pretty advanced nowadays and you should be good with anything you choose should you use it only for poker. Now if you want to play video games on the other hand...
