I used to post on FTR a lot, but have been away for several years, and now I forgot my old account's password.
I live in a 3-bedroom apartment with 3 roommates. One of them is named Kim, who is an old friend from college. She lives with her boyfriend, and they share one of the 3 bedrooms. The person in the third room is irrelevant for now.
13 months ago I met someone named Caroline through a friend of a friend, and I was immediately enamored with her, but I didn't do anything about it. Partly this is because she had a boyfriend. And partly this was because I never really saw her, and sort of forgot. And partly this was because of the nature of my personality.
About 8 months ago, Kim and Caroline became good friends and started hanging out, sometimes with me around, and as I result I spent some time with Caroline and developed a big crush on her. Again, I didn't do anything about this.
About 2 months ago, Caroline broke up with her boyfriend. I still didn't do anything.
About 9 days ago, we (me, Kim, and her boyfriend) had a falling out with the roommate in bedroom #3, and he moved out. We had someone lined up to take the newly available apartment, but that plan fell through, and instead Caroline moved in.
I still have a big crush on her, and she is still single. But now she is my roommate. I still haven't done anything about the situation.
That's all I have to say.

Can you have a NEW, new name? Because that one is too long and makes the forum look weird.

yea wtf....dont act on this now. Ignore it. As soon as someone moves in with you no relationship beyond being friends will work out. If something happens and you guys get together if you fallout the living situation will be extremely awkward. It is not worth it at all....

Don't do anything if you just want to get laid. If you honestly think you want to be with her, and something might come of it, then I wouldn't be able to resist. Good luck!

Start some harmless flirting, I suggest walking into her room at night while she's asleep to show her you're new nightvision video camera.
Either you're boning her immediately or she moves out anyways and you can continue to pursue her without any worries!

You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

Def. go for it if you really want to be with her. Just make sure you kind of get an idea if she has mutual interests first before making a major move.

Sorry about the long name guys. I didn't realize it would mess up the forum width or I wouldn't have done it.
I'm not just looking for a quick lay here, if I was I'd go to a bar and find someone looking for the same thing.
I actually really enjoy her company and I like the way she thinks, we get along well, share some interests (but not too many), and I'm generally really attracted to her. She definitely likes me, but I'm not sure in what way. I do get the feeling that she's into me, but I've never been too great at picking up on those signals, and my naturally coy attitude hurts when it comes to creating opportunities to gather more information.
Anyway, just looking for some advice, and thanks to those that offered it. I do realize this is something I need to figure out for myself, but input from others always helps. I don't feel comfortable discussing this with most of my friends, since that has some odd social ramifications, so I figured I'd get anonymous advice from people on here, many of whose judgment I respect. Seems like an even split of "go for it or you'll regret it" and "don't go for it unless you want problems", which oddly enough I think will help me make the right decision here.

If there is anyone you should ask about romance, it's a bunch of internet poker degenerates.

You realize, of course, that if you both do hook up you will no longer have a paying roommate, right? If you can deal with that, you should do what you need to progress things forward.
