Well haven't posted on here in forever but since I'm bored and stuck in my house I may as well.
On July 2nd my life changed, I was out riding my motorcycle with a friend, and I got hit by a drunk driver head on. Suffered broken lower left leg, compound fracture on my left femur(I'm gona have a bad ass 4 inch scar there), broke my left hand, compound fracture of my right elbow and to top it all off broke my right middle toe. I just got out yesterday but Im still in a wheelchair and only use my walker to get to the bathroom.
While in the hospital I suffered a blood clot going to my lungs, and messed me up pretty bad. I was in critical care for 10 days, and physical rehab for 15 days. But I feel luck my friend only broke her left leg, and both of us did not suffer any neck or head injuries. We both flew off the bike and landed in the grass rather than going through the windshield of the car or into the road.
The asshole who hit me blew a .24 and tried to run from the scene, I went to middle school and high school with the asshole as well hes 20 like me.
Im just posting this because a few of you might still remember me, and like I said Im stuck in my house with nothing else to do.

Ohh and I almost lost a testicle in the accident, I didn't think a sac can get bruised but yeah my whole left ball sac was black and blue for 2 or 3 weeks.

I got some funny stories about being in the hospital. But vicodin is a hell of a drug so Im going to bed now, Ill tell some tales tomorrow.
Ohh and I got hit so hard I lost a shoe, I always used to be amazed at that phenomenon and I got to experience it.

I did get a lawyer, but because I only had PLPD on my bike, and the kid who hit me had no insurance, so because of all that my health insurance and parents car insurance pays my medical stuff, and they were screwing me hardcore so I got a lawyer recommended to me by MADD.
Hes a poor ass 20 year old, so I wont be getting a big payout, I might be able to win a settlement and get like 20 bucks a week the rest of my life, but Im not sure how it works.
I was slowing down to make a right turn at an intersection the speed limit was 45mph, he was on the other side of the intersection came over a hill and saw me( I assume) and locked his brakes for ~150feet, and came through the intersection and crossed into the left turn lane and then into me, hitting me on the front left, right between the front tire and my crash bar(in the picture of the bike the bar that sticks out from the motor), and then I think the car slid along my and my friends left legs. and then Im pretty sure I flew up to the right and landed in the grass on the side of the road.
I think I was going ~5mph, because I was slowing to make the turn when I saw him skidding, and just kept slowing because I had no idea where he was gona end up, Im not sure how fast he was going he looked to be doing 60 or 70 when he locked his brakes but Im not sure. When he hit me Im guessing in the 30s or 20s. But again I have no idea, thats just my guess.

damn dude i was going to bitch about having a shitty july but i cant hold a candle to this. I sold my bike last month because i felt like i was cheating death and i dont regret getting rid of it. Glad your ok and sue the shit out of that asshole.

Damn brother. Thats terrible news. I feel and have felt at least some of your pain. If you have any questions about anything with the femur break, shoot me a PM or something.
My biggest recommendation at this point is, assumming you have a rod and screws through your femur, get the screw in your knee out as soon as you can whenever the doctor mentions anything about it. My healing was going slow as hell until that came out and it let my bones compress a helluva lot better and then I healed up quick. It was draggin along so slow before that happened and pretty much stopped healing all together. I was trying to save money and another surgery because he said it would likely heal with everything in. The knee screw would snag a tendon or muscle or something on the "point" end of it, so I should have gotten it out just for that reason anyway. In the long run, everything was just a lot more comfortable for me with the screws out. The rod itself is still in my femur, but thats it.
Both my screws I could feel under the skin and the one in my hip would rub my muscles funny so I got them both out and all the discomfort in that area went away. So I wouldnt hesitate to get them out if they bother you at all when you up walkin around again, it feels a lot better when they are out.
I would ride a stationary bike insanely far, like over 30 miles, everyday for probably 2, 3 months and that was good physio for me, but I did way too little to get my hip flexors back and I'm paying for it now. Thats the only place that really gives me any pain anymore, and Im guessing that is why, but im not positive. I think the main thing I should have done for that is the workout machine where your basically sitting in a chair, your legs are out wide against some pads, and you bring em back to the center with weight resistance. Not sure what its called. I was doing it cheap though with no official physical therapy cause the shit is so ridiculously expensive with no health insurance. You'll probably be in much better shape than me with people working with you once or twice or more a week. I had to go solo.

yeah man physical therapy is like $300 an hour its insane, luckily with how the insurance works Im covered for life with anything about this accident.
None of my screws bother me yet in my leg I can feel the ones in the ankle under my skin but it doesnt bother me to much. The plate and scews in my elbow bother me a lot, I cant rest my elbow on anything because the skin is so thin and the screws stick out so much.

That sucks about the hardware in the elbow botherin you. It really annoyed me that I could feel all of mine since the stuff is supposed to be measured perfectly I would think, so you could never feel it. I'm thinkin my rod was a hair too long too is why I could never get it to heal right with the 2 screws still in. I'm not sure how much of a common occurence that is and if the doctor actually did anything wrong though. I wouldnt mind having him refund my insane hospital and doctor bills though.
Im glad that moron got 5 years. I hope he gets "loved" by his prison mates everyday too. I know the suffering I went through and it was hard knowing it was my own fault, if it woulda been someone elses I probably woulda killed them.
