non standard, my wife sent hers back 3 times during the warranty period to get new ones, then she bought a new one right after. She drops things but still, I will never call them rugged. All that said, still love the ipods!

I guess its not even technically mine... my gf got it as a xmas present from her uncle last year, but im the one that uses it in my car and such. She was pissed when it went through the washer even after i told her it was fine. Can only imagine how things would have went if it was kaput.
