Today when I came home from school, there was a cop car parked outside my parents house. I thought fuck what's going on, of course I thought that something had happend to my family, but thank god that wasn't the case.

My dad came out and told me, that our house was robbed, damn it. They have taken my dell 24" monitor, no more multitabling for me. They also took my psp, notebook. But they haven't been able to get my big ass pioneer plasma tv down from the wall , b/c of the theft prof bracket. But they stole my remote. The most weird thing was that they didn't take my xbox 360, playstation 2, my computer, dvds, my sisters pc. The wireless receiver to my mouse is gone too, and they left the mouse!

I'm really looking forward to my check for 4200$ from the insurance company

The worst thing was that my sister, came home, when they were at it, we think b/c it looks like they were interrupted. I dont know what could have happend to her if she walked up on them. I dont care about my stuff, just my family is okay.

Sucks about the all the stolen stuff, but good to know that the family is ok.

No security system at home? Might be a good investment considering all the expensive toys you got...

that sucks. my apartment was robbed a few months ago, but we didnt have renters insurance so we didnt get anything. that has since been rectified. luckily though all they took were small things, as they had a lot of apartments to hit that day. so they left the computer, the DVD player, and stuff like that. they did however take some cash, and a digital camera, and other small electronics.

This happened to me last January. Freaking sucks, doesn't it?

P.S. I'm sure you had insurance for everything....Me says you should fudge a little bit (not a lot) about what was actually stolen. They're going to cut you a check and it won't be for what the stuff is actually worth (what you bought it for), so you might as well get what you can from them....

Good luck.

Someone steals from you....so you steal from someone else, makes everything right....
Unfortuntely those of us who have been paying homeowners premiums for 12 years and thankfully have never had to file a claim get to pay for the "little extra" everyone thinks they are entitled to. I leave my wallet on my dresser and usually shower around 9am....in case you were looking to put a little walking around money in you pocket....at least it would be harder for you to justify that kind of theft.

Dav, I know what you are saying, however insurance is a fucked up system. When he gets robbed and is honest, you end up feeling that in your premiums, if he lies you feel it a tiny bit more. The insurance company is the one thats scamming everyone. Its insurnace, you never even need it, but you pay monthly for it, then when you do need it they only come through half way. Well fuck, I pay them to protect me from this sort of thing, and I expect my stuff to be replaced in full, I dont want a damn consolation check. So dont let the insurance companies trick you into being mad at your fellow man, they are the ones to blame (and the stupid fucking thieves of course). Its a sad world we live in though, there are lots of not so 'honest' ways to make a living, but stealing has to be one of the lowest ones.

Where do you live? j/k

I didn't say it was right......but fuck it. The insurance company was going to give me $100 for $500 worth of stuff. That's B.S. in my eyes.

P.S. Boost, thank you. You worded that a lot better than I ever could have, at least right now...DavSimon, I know you probably didn't mean for any disrespect, but I couldn't come up with a good response to someone that basically just called me a piece of shit. Boost saved me there.

All you have to do is get replacement value insurance on you things. If my $2000 sofa gets burned up in a fire and the equvialent replacement since leather prices have increased....now costs $2400 they write a check for $2400. It is all too easy to blame the system because you feel slighted by it, do you think the rediculous premiums came before or after the billions paid out to fraudulent claims annually. I have no particular love for insurance companies, and don't claim to be some moral beacon, but I do firmly believe that the only way to improve the world in which we live is to do the right thing even if it costs me a little to do so....and not pass the pain on to the next poor sap simply because he had the misfortune to come after me.

Unfortunate....but not BS....that is exactly what you paid for....you or your parents decided to pay about 5% lower premium to get simple coverage and not replacement value coverage. Is it BS when you walk into McDonalds and pay $5 and they give you $5 worth of food?

Dave, I hear ya. But insurance companies are not worthy of your crusade. In a perfect world, I would totally agree with you. However, my experience with insurance companies has been that they will readily accept your monthly payment every month, but will scratch and claw and delay, and anything else they can think of, to keep from paying out a dollar on a legitimate claim. So if someone can scam an insurance company out of money, I ain't hatin, I'm congratulatin. Same way with vigilante justice concerning a child molester, and I put insurance companies and child molesters in the same category.

I just have to say that I have no intentions of "stealing" from the insurance company, they have always been there for us when we needed it.

By the way we have just found out, that they have stolen the xtra key to my dads car. So perhaps are they coming back tomorrow to steal the car

its a 2 way alarm, when your car alarm goes off instead of making noise, it pages you on your keychain reciever, then you can act accordingly... you know.. call the cops, or do what I prefer, sneak outside VERY quietly, and shoot 'em in the leg, or the butt or somethin.

Sure, what I did was somewhat wrong and less than honest. But if that's the worst thing I ever do in my life, I'm okay with that.

The whole "piece of shit" comment (I probably used a little too strong of words there, sorry for that) was directed at your, "Come over to my house and steal my wallet" comment. I'd never do that, and to say that these two instances are similar is just plain wrong of you to do. My fiance and I got what we thought we were owed for our things, not what the insurance company thought (they lowballed the piss out of us). I see that as being fair.

..... boon, you must be joking? Have you seen the rounds for the 44? Sure the 50 is bigger, but sometimes you get waht you can get. Both guns are fucking huge though, and if you shoot someone in the leg with either, it wont cause a limp, it will cause the leg to need to be amputated. Calling a 44 a bb gun just cuz theres a 5-0 is akin to calling a 747 a paper airplane just cuz theres a 777.

lol yes I have seen a 44 and shot plenty of em and own a H&K USP .40 so I know the size of bullets and destruction they cause. I just can't see buying a 44 desert eagle. Ive pondered many times buying the 50 because at one point my brother was going to split it with me, then I broke my leg in half and the idea of buying the 50 went bye bye along with my money

Though I actually would prefer a
too bad the cheapest I've ever found one is 1799 and that was a steal. I still could never justify spending that much on a gun unless it came with a can. Then I could make an exception. The H&K tactical is also very nice which is just a mini version of the mark 23 basically but has the threaded barrel still

You can always give them the old bite the curb routine(Just watched American History X for the first time)

Or you could get a big dog like we always have had.

150lbs dog will scare away most robbers.

just go with a nice glock 9mm, more rounds to play around with, use you glock to get to your shot gun and then you got yourself a fight.

yes, a .50 will pretty much blow an adult human leg off. It might still be attached by some flesh, but if the shot hits your bone... you better hope you get a REALLY good surgeon. And even then you would never walk the same again.
